are artist slots open for this year?
At this point, we are only in the interest check phase of DAA 2026, but we will be looking for artists when our applications open!
If you are interested in contributing, you can follow us here, on any of the social media sites below, or subscribe to our newsletter to be notified when applications open. We expect to open applications in mid-to-late April!
So late to posting this but here's my final piece for @dragonageannual 2025 for February! My piece is centered around the Lady of the Skies, the Avvar goddess of the sky. I included a lot of birds, trying to focus the most on the ptarmigan, which is one of the Lady's most favored. Since we never get much of a humanoid depiction of the Lady in the game art or really a description of any kind, I took some liberties on her appearance. I gave her Avvar war paint on her body, a rib cage top as an homage to the Avvar tradition of "sky burials", and a ptarmigan inspired mask with the eye symbol often used to depict her in Avvar imagery. I also thought it would be fun to give her hair that resembled clouds. In the back I tried depicting Lake Calenhad, which is made from her tears, as well as the Frostback Mountains. Very honored to be part of this project, thank you so much for having me!

Garahel’s body ached as he trudged into his home, and the silence that met him there was the first peace he’d felt in days.
A sliver of moonlight illuminated sights worn smooth by the years: the crate that served as a table, the cot in the corner, the antiquated wood stove. Tonight it all seemed new to him somehow.
Looking at his home, he was keenly aware of how fragile everything was; it was nothing but wood and stone, really, and the dreams of whatever elf, decades ago, had taken it upon himself to build. That every window pane was still whole was a blessing. Most in the alienage could not say the same.
It’d been a week since the storm had swept through the alienage, leaving behind a wake of destruction. Not a soul had slept through the howling winds and drumming rain that night—nor the deep, brassy crack that tore through the din, louder and more resonant than thunder.
