The Art of: is a series that spotlights cultural practices, artisanal trade, and craftsmanship indigenous to Africa. Through visual documentation, it aims to preserve indigenous practices and the art of their techniques while highlighting the work of the artisans and practitioners who carry forward these traditions.
Our first episode transports us to a small Nubian community in Kibera, Kenya, where filmmakers April and Tierney Walker document some of the fascinating beautification rituals undertaken by a Nubian bride 'ARUS' as part of her wedding preparations.
