I've noticed something while observing the behavior of the adults around me. When talking to children, they tend to default to baby talk regardless of their age. They at best directly ignore what the child wants/needs (boundary wise e.g 'Don't talk to me' 'Don't be disrespectful!') and at worst go out of their way to FORCE them to do stuff (manhandling, for example). When a child and adult are talking, the adults tend to sort of... loom over them, and if a kid gets upset, more times than not the surrounding adults call them dramatic or tell them to walk it off.

And, it strikes me as odd when they look at me and get surprised because the kids enjoy being around me. Literally all it takes is respecting their boundaries and treating them like equals. I got on my knees to meet their level once and I talked to them like a person and the way their eyes lit up nearly knocked me over. I ask if they'd rather be left alone and they say yeah and they almost seem SURPRISED that I just... take that. I leave them alone.

Kids are inexperienced and developing, yes, but the way they're treated is so... normalized? If we treated an adult like that we'd be called abusive. How it any more different just because they're smaller and less knowledgeable?

Anyways my point being, maybe the kids WILL be alright if you just treat them with Basic Respect

Elderly women are an extremely important demographic for feminism. If a woman cannot be childless and then live comfortably taken care of in her old age, then there is still coercive incentive for children. Social security and elderly womens programs are very important.

“The orphaned elderly” is terminology used in the elder law field to describe those who, due to a lack of younger family members/or lack of relationship with said family members, find themselves in precarious positions as they age and need more support both financially and physically.

I was just watching a video earlier on the amount of women confessing they only had kids more than once because they realized people in their life would care about their health and well-being while they were pregnant. Their survival mattered in the context of motherhood.

It's easy to call Grimes stupid. But if I were Grimes I would also make every single choice she made in the order she made it in because I would be Grimes and I would experience Grimes's life in the order it occurred. In this way we are all trapped inside of ourselves, and none of us know just how stupid we fucking are.

if youre in the imperial core and periphery you have to marry your mutuals in the global south and offer them visa and citizenship as proof of your dedication to internationalism. then you divorce and marry another mutual so on and so forth.

It bothers me that most sensory homunculus models used in teaching/demos/etc has artificially small genitals. Like the point of a model is to be accurate. Genitals are obviously highly innervated tissue and should be represented as such

Sorry but the one on the left is strongly implying the that the hands are more sensitive than the genitals. These are supposed to be accurate models with larger size indicating more highly innervated tissue. Seeing one of these with a giant phallus would be way less weird to me than seeing that whoever is making them lacks the maturity to represent genitals accurately so has made the phallus smaller for 'propriety'.

The representation of the genitals should be at least half the size of a hand, realistically a bit bigger. Idk. It's strange to me that the people making these won't just make accurate ones. God forbid someone see a representation of a phallus.

& make one with a clitoris that size too

like they are obviously essentially the same structure, but allowing for a representation of a clitoral shaft paired with a figure that did not have testicles, or had enlarged breasts, for example, would be helpful to visualize the significant number of nerve endings humans have on that body part regardless of how we're sexed/gendered.

the fear of perceiving a representation of a woman's body with external genitals, despite all women having external genitals in different sizes and configurations (unless having experienced cliterectomy due to intersexist or misogynist medical abuse--which tbh comes from a similar place as the lack of representation in these models, namely the desire to erase knowledge/acknowledgement of this body part on women) is so notable to me

Yes! And your tags make an excellent point, nipples are also notably absent or small in most of these. Like, we're being shown a representation of our body with size being mapped to nerve density, and our erogenous zones are tiny. What gives?

boku no hero academia really fucking hates women tbh

what if you wanted to not be sexualized against your will but god said sorry you're a bnha woman

like, male characters on this show will just constantly get away with sexual harassment. like, constantly. all the time. some characters are entirely defined by the sexual harassment they do. and they'll face no consequences for it. ideally they should get expelled, but honestly schools aren't always great at spotting this, but it's not like the show is making a commentary on this. the show wants to see sexual harassment because they think it's cool when women are sexualized against their will or tricked into compromising situations.

a better show would see mineta get like, expelled for this shit, or have at least one of the female characters just come forward to a teacher about how uncomfortable these situations are for them. but if anything the teachers are cheering on mineta. this is, realistically, like, a cool and interesting situation in terms of writing. teen boys will learn they can get away with sexual harassment because authority figures themselves are often misogynists, but like, the show has no self-awareness of this. the show is benefiting from this power dynamic by making it seem cute and fun for women to face sexual harassment. i'm starting to understand why this show sparked some of the most insane discourse on the planet when it was popular.

all lesbians should know the basics of transfeminine hrt. why WOULDN'T you learn the recipe for more women

if not out of the goodness of your own heart, then: You would have a bunch of increasingly beautiful tall women looking to you for your advice, recommending you to each other, positioning you as the local gender witch

all lesbians should know the basics of transfeminine hrt. why WOULDN'T you learn the recipe for more women

it’s crazy how offended ostensible allies get when you point out that a lot of transphobia is obviously psychosexual in nature. like most transphobia is rooted in imagining a trans person doing something sexual. “imagining a trans person doing something sexual” has a ton of political efficacy in the United States, they make ads and attacks where the whole point is to freak people out by telling them to imagine a trans person doing something sexual. all of these are perverse sexual fantasies, by definition. like….what are people even trying to argue about

Being honest about how bad right wing policy really is makes people upset, we're not supposed to say that a Political Viewpoint is completely illegitimate like that

i really hate to ask for help cuz like, it makes me feel vulnerable, but like, I need help with affording food to feed myself and sister, and stuff to make my life more livable like new clothes and toiletries.

not getting into it.in detail but I live in a pretty abusive household that gets harder to leave by the second and it does take a massive toll on my mental and physical health.

if you wanna support me, (disabled black trans guy) my link is here. if not that's ok too! I'm very glad people on Tumblr have been kind enough to offer patronage even if I seem kinda crazy. i think my mental health will improve once I find an opening to leave.

thank you, have a good day everyone!

Trans visibility has gotten scarier for years now, and the trans people celebrating today are extraordinary. I love every single one of my trans siblings, including the ones who don't want to be visible today or can't be. Stay safe, and don't let them take your pride away from you.
