I have been thinking about this a lot and I believe it’s in large part due to people, even well-meaning allies, internalising decades of unchallenged Israeli propaganda about Palestinians.

I remember posting after October 7 that the attack felt somewhat inevitable because the situation in Palestine was a pressure cooker merely waiting to go off, especially given everything happening two years prior in Jerusalem etc. We're at a point where things are muuuch muuuch worse in pretty much all parts of Palestine. This is also why I believe that despite where we currently are, Palestine will be free at some point sooner than later because the bubble has to burst at some point. This level and amount of violence isn't sustainable long-term, and we can see, even within Israeli society itself, that this bubble is struggling to hold itself together.

I hope people realize by now that when democrats have to choose between a remotely progressive candidate and losing an election, they will choose to lose the election every time. That is because actual progressive policies would pose trouble for the US ruling class and they'd lose donor support.
