The hardest feeling in the world is to take on the roles of both mother and father simultaneously. Every responsibility rests on my shoulders now; everything that Mohammad used to do, I do it all. This war has made us tougher and subjected us to immense trials.

My husband, Mohammad, has been injured for some time now and is unable to fetch food, water, or firewood. So, every day, bright and early, I venture out to gather firewood (we have no gas for cooking), standing in line under the scorching sun to fetch water for Mohammad and our daughter. I've narrowly escaped death multiple times, witnessing countless massacres and enduring tough times.
