I would love to see a fantasy novel where the lore that the reader / protagonist learns at first is not true

e.g. they're told that this kind of creature has some kind of psychic or pheromone-based "mate bond" that cannot be broken; but it turns out that's a popular myth that has never been scientifically substantiated, and is basically used to keep people in bad relationships (basically the equivalent of "human women are biologically submissive")

"lore" is imo too often treated like information that the author is giving the reader, and it just happens to be using the medium of diagetic (that is, 'in-story') exposition.

it's so much more interesting and dynamic to treat "lore" as information that is generated and disseminated in-story. who is telling the protagonist this information? under what historical and social circumstances was this idea formed? what political motives are there for trying to get people to believe this information? which characters would disagree with it? would the protagonist believe it, or be sceptical? does the plot bear it out, or cast doubt on it?

We can pity Sky and Wind for their bad stamina and poor speed but let’s talk about the opposite cause I’ve been replaying Hyrule Warriors and Wars is just so. Speedy. and he has No Stamina bar for his Natural Speed. And he runs that fast in a ton of armor and chainmail with a heavy assortment of weapons and what else. At least someone like Time is said to be slower when fighting-

Well. I think his speed is very underestimated. Every other Link needed/had their pegasus boots or other fast travel items but Wars didn’t have such luxuries all he could do is sprint across the map from base to base with just his legs- and he is fast. Like so fast. Everyone in that game is so fast. I know it’s the genres gameplay itself that they’re so fast but I love applying those mechanics to the LU casts set of skills.

While his extremely incompetent soldiers were screaming for help cause 1 bokoblin is too tough of an enemy and theres 9 other objectives on the map One guy had to be everywhere at once and try not to go crazy. That guy is Wars. If I was Wars id have gone crazy. No wonder he’s sweeping 100 enemies with his specials.

And like yeah Wild also travels long distances pretty quickly but he Has fast travel and his slate and he’s still not nearly as fast as Wars is. Wars kind of scares me.

Tldr: Wars scares me and if he ran after me id just start praying . Hes very fast. He had to be of course. But I can easily imagine him leaving the other Links eating dust in an item-less race.

Why is Hylia making him a hero. He should be a track star. Get him on the field

I've been working on this drawing for a while now, but I didn't like the final colors so much that I decided to put everything in black and white.

So it's a bit of a comic-book cover, vaguely retracing the rebuilding of Tazmily after the fall and rebirth of the world. I don't know if you remember the little stand-ups I did of Lucas, Fuel, Alle and so on : this should take place in the same universe.

The text you can read on this illustration is actually the lyrics of the song Ostavi Trag by the band September, which I consider a bit of a theme song for this AU.

By the way, the composition is inspired by the "George Russell's New York Band 1983" album cover Also bear in mind, however, that no comics or fan fiction are planned. It's just a small art project, and I'd like to eventually put together a small fanbook of sketches, concepts and illustrations using these designs and this environment.

theres no real story behind this one specifically I just figure when tae and otto eventually start getting along better theyd be really good at salvaging equipment from old abandoned electrical comm tunnels since they wouldnt rlly have access to new supplies after leaving the company, i thought itd be cute for tae to like .. bring a sack lunch to share with otto in this weird tunnel
