Hi! For the film asks, 🔔👻?

Avatar

hii hello!!

🔔 a film that resonates inside you like a huge bell

Ironically, a film called The Silence (1998). I can't explain. You'll have to see (and hear) for yourself.

👻 a film that haunts you

It doesn't haunt me nearly as much as it used to, but for *checks letterboxd* about half a year, Your Name Engraved Herein (2020) was sitting at the back of my head like a broken, flickering lightbulb. It wouldn't leave me alone until i finally managed to rewatch it. The second watch wasn't less painful than the first, but at least it made me find a little peace <3

for your film asks: 🩺 (please tell me as much or as little as you want! ps. all the questions were super cool!!)

Avatar

hi hi !! i'm glad you like the questions :)

🩺 a film that you keep returning to for the pain

I think And Then We Danced (2019) and Dear Ex (2018) would be accurate.... while thinking about this question i realised i don't actually rewatch films a lot, i'm more likely to rewatch shows and dramas. But these two i've definitely rewatched at times when i wanted to feel the pain ksjdfs

🏚️ & 👁️

hellooo beloved <3 finally getting around to answering!

🏚️ a film that (temporarily) made you lose all hope

Mmm maybe Y Tu Mamá También (2001). That ending sure was Something. Scratch that, the entire film was Something...

👁️ a film that you never want to watch again (even though it was good)

Parasite (2019) LOL. i will never shut up about how fantastic it is. but also. nothing can ever make me watch it again. the existential dread and horror is a little Too Much for me <3

the cozy hopepunk cottagecore reputation people have given ghibli is insane. every ghibli movie is about some combination of: 1) the (often violent) loss of innocence, 2) world war II, 3) the screaming, bloody, inevitable death of the natural world, and 4) airplane
