excuse me sir—
Alex O'Loughlin and Scott Caan as Steve McGarrett and Danny Williams... thanks "Alex O'Loughlin Updates" for these beautiful pictures. I miss them so much.
You want to take somebody. Take me! Not him, you take me.
Steve proved so many times he believed his life meant nothing without Danny...
Will this ever stop hurting me?
You talking to your wife?
He’s talking to his husband,
I cannot let you go with him.
It’s not just Steve’s face that kills me, but also the way Danny touches Steve’s arm with that little strength he has left ... so much love in that gesture.
I noticed this thing when I was rewatching the finale. How Steve searches for Danny’s eyes as if trying to get at least a shred of approval after saying that he loves him. You know how you try to make eye contact with somebody whom you know you’re upsetting, but you’re not in the mood for actually apologizing, so you kinda just try to make sure you’re still good, so you really need them to look you back in the eye.
Steven does that because he feels bad for leaving, and at that moment he really needs reassurance that Danno still loves him, too, that it’s okay to choose himself. He really doesn’t want to go, and at the same time, he wants to. I know what it feels like, when you want two polar opposites. Look how he then stands there to watch Danny as he lands heavily on the chair. Steve doesn’t check on him so that Danny makes it back on the chair safely. He just doesn’t wanna go so he’s stalling.
Steve’s always been the more affectionate one in this relationship, and Danny has always had a certain power over him as the colder one. Steve’s always needed that glance back.
First of all, I want to say I'm sorry for all those who were hurt in any way by Peter Lenkov's behavior. Every job, but maybe even more in this line of work, where passion, creativity and the need to express oneself freely play such a fundamental role, should be a safe and fulfilling environment, where mutual respect is the first thing needed.
The second thought that comes to my mind is about the story, a story I loved with all my heart for 10 years... and I can't help wondering how things could have gone ... this show and these characters had the potential to make TV history. Alex O'Loughlin and Scott Caan, beside their tremendous acting skills, proved their writing and directing skills. They should have let them shine and let the show shine with them.
I can't help wondering how things could have gone if their opinion was valued and respected, if the characters they brought to life for 10 years were treated like they deserved. But no, they even thought the show could do without them... it sounds so absurd ... but life has its way to show how wrong you were. And they keep on shining ... and you better try to learn how to live and how to respect people. It's never too late and it starts with a SINCERE apology, with regret and repentance and with some serious, hard work on yourself to change and be better.
The softest marrieds.
I could never make the choice to leave you. But if my death is the only way to save the universe, to save you? I’m willing to do that.
Softest, sweetest marrieds.
