everyone in the pitt hits on each other with a ferocity that has gloria clutching her pearls whenever she eavesdrops on their conversations. danaโ€™s threatening to strap robby for his attitude problem, graciaโ€™s comparing hand sizes with santos, someone asks whitaker if they can watch him change into new scrubs when he gets blood on them again. donโ€™t even start on the night shift, whatever abbot and ellis and shen say to each other is between them and god. itโ€™s a hr nightmare, mostly because no one is sure whoโ€™s joking and whoโ€™s completely serious.

Langdon has never been called hot before BUT heโ€™s always been called cute/adorable. Since the ripe age of twelve heโ€™s been deemed cute. It frustrates Langdon to no end because goddamnit heโ€™s NOT cute! Heโ€™s handsome and striking. Anytime has anyone has called cute has been met with a scowl and him sulking for the rest of the day.

The only ones who get the pass to call him cute is Mel and John Shen. (He went crashing into the wall the first time John called him cute)

ahem, firstly i think garcia's "er ken" line and frank's cutie patootie smile, man caught blushing over a coding patient, are indicative of you being onto someone. i do like the idea of no one ever calling him Hot or Handsome, he saw someone call robby 'distinguished' and went home early. but i do would like to suggest he doesn't care for it either way.... he thinks.

everyone who's ever called him cute was a relative or abby or her relatives, and it always came with a cheek-pinch kind of energy, the first person to call him adorable in any given week is garcia doing so as playfully condescending as possible, no one ever stops to say 'hot' or 'handsome', or at least not where he can hear it, because they just assume he gets it all the time because he's "er ken" right? no need to give his ego more free samples.

so, yeah, maybe he's tired of the 'cute'. maybe, though, he's also an absolute fucking loser, and if mel and john called him cute he does go crashing into a wall. because they'd mean it. it'd hit different. a good solid 'nothing, you're just cute' or a '-enamoured chuckle- cute' from either mel or john and frank feels some type of way he hasn't since trying to pretend stephen sommers' 1999 bisexual hit 'the mummy' didn't awaken anything in him.

actually, john calling him cute would be delicious because he would be prone to doing it, he'd say it with this stupidly soft undertone and when frank would inevitably turn around with the weirdest face john would just kind of half shrug with this soft smile like he knows frank needs 2-5 business days to process it and he just finds it endearing to watch.

also this is a stupid addition, but people calling 'mel' cute and frank is standing in a corner fighting for his life thinking about that one time he watched her open her braid 'cus Things happened and it's no longer salvageable so might as well open it and tie it into a high ponytail while holding a hair tie in her mouth short sleeves and firm back and everything, shikimori's not just a cutie and all, you get it

dr john shen clocking in early as attending (after having been one for only 3 months) on this fucky ass day because there's an MCI and then once things start slowing down a kid comes in with measles and his parents are being unreasonable and while he deals with that he has to deal with those two old white men refusing to end their damn shifts and one of the day shift residents almost gets fucking arrested and there's an 18-year-old in custody in one of the rooms who will likely stay there all night with his sad mum and the day shift attending just showed a patient's father the fucking make-shift morgue and then right when they're about to close trauma a man's pelvic gets crushed and he has to stand there and listen to walsh and abbot argue over what is supposed to be his patient, really, and he can see the day shift attending dissociate for ten solid minutes and no one's even told him there are two rats still loose in his damn department and abbot calls him a nerd
