So, my little sister and I sometimes draw something together while listening to some anime and cartoon openings.
Almost a week ago, she asked me if we could draw some pokémon together and I agreed. I tried to draw Freed with a pokémon just because, but now, i'm really proud of how it turned out. It took me like 4 or 5 days because I kept adding pokémons, but while I was making this I also came up with a whole AU that I ended up loving.
Perhaps I will make some fanfiction about it in the future.
On the top I wrote "Dark Ècriture" if you didn't get it.
Serperior: it's a male. Usually he's pretty calm and collected. He's also Freed's strongest pokémon.
I wanted Freed to begin his journey with a Pokémon starter and I thought Snivy was perfect. Its whole evolution line is inspired from the french nobility and Serperior is similar to the word 'superior'. It fits with Freed's aesthetic perfectly, in my opinion.
Umbreon: It's a female. She really loves Freed and helps him the most, especially with taking care of Zorua.
Before thinking about Zorua and Absol, I wanted Freed to have a completely dark tipe Pokémon. Even after adding the other two, I kept Umbreon because I came up with an important role for her in the story.
Zorua: It's a male. He's mischievous and enjoys pulling pranks on everyone he meets, but Freed tries not to be too harsh on him, because he's just a baby.
Other than being a dark tipe, Zorua is known to be a little trickster. And, come on, Freed is the same with his runes. I am convinced that he enjoys seeing people crush their skulls against his walls.
Ceruledge: It's a male. He's the calmest out of Freed's pokémon and the most useful when they have to cook. He enjoys chopping vegetables the most.
I know it's not a dark tipe, but I wanted Freed to have a swordman in his team. Ceruledge is known to be a Pokémon that fights because of grudge, and I think that somehow Freed does that, too. Plus, even if in my drawing it's not visible, the sides of his swords look a bit like Fairy Tail guildmark.
Absol: It's a female. She's the most rebellious, but deep down she cares a lot about Freed. She views him as her trainer, but the greenette doesn't know that and tells everyone that she's not exactly his pokémon, only under his protection.
I wanted at least one of his pokémon to megaevolve. At first, I wanted to add a Gallade or a Gardevoir, but then I realised that, not only Absol is a dark tipe, but, when it megaevolves, her fur forms a bang on front of her eye and she even gets wings. Freed's aesthetic again.
Freed used to live in a small village as a kid. He was friend with the pokémon professor's grandson, Laxus. They became friend after realizing that none of them had parents: Laxus lived with Makarov and Freed with his older brother, Albion (I have a lot of AU'S about him, but we'll talk about him another day). They felt like only the other could understand them completely.
Freed fell in love with Laxus a bit later and was really sad when Laxus started his journey to become a pokémon trainer. He realised that the only way to be always with him was becoming a trainer himself, so, when he reached the right age, he went to Makarov's laboratory to choose his first pokémon.
As you already know, he chose Snivy. Even Laxus came back home to congratulate him and guide him in his journey. Freed was overjoyed. He even gave to him a key stone that belonged to his great-grandfather, Yuri Dreyar. Makarov gave it to Laxus, but he said he wasn't the tipe to wear a brooch.
Unfortunately, their journey together didn't last long, because when Freed learned the basic, Laxus told him to get his badgets as soon as possible and went to his next gym.
Despite his disappointment, Freed tried his best to beat all the gyms to travel with Laxus again.
After visiting a couple of cities and getting his badgets, Freed found an Eevee. It was a rare occurrence, so he decided to catch it. Laxus once told him that he would have liked to add a Jolteon to his team, so Freed couldn't let that occasion pass.
He caught her easily and decided to keep her in his team until he found a thunderstone.
Actually, Eevee followed Freed for a bit. She didn't know why, but she was intrigued by him. She let him catch her with ease and became part of his team. She was really disappointed when she found out that Freed wanted to give her to his crush, but she eventually accepted it.
As their journey went on, Freed met an old man that twisted his ankle. The greenette helped him get home and the man, who worked at a day care, gave him an egg to show him his gratitude.
Months later, Freed got every badget and could classify for the champion league with Laxus. But something happened and the blond broke his heart without realising it.
That made Freed realize that he never made choice just by listening to his heart, only the ones that could get him close to Laxus. But he had no idea what else he could do, nothing was as exciting as Laxus.
He met a lot of people that had different professions during his travel, but he didn't find anything that interested him.
One day, he was passing througth a archaeological site, when he got stuck inside of a cave. He didn't have anything or anyone to help him and it was so dark he couldn't even go and look for another exit.
He didn't know how long he stayed there, but after a while he got Serperior and Eevee out of their pokeballs to have some company.
Freed couldn't do anything other than talking to them about how his life seemed meaningless and how he whished to have a light that guided him towards his destiny.
After that, Eevee evolved into Umbreon, so now they had a light source and could go find another way to get out.
They managed to find an exit thanks to some weird letter-shaped creatures, that showed them the way. Freed was amazed. Never in his life he saw something so magnificent. Unfortunately, those pokémons disappeared right after helping them.
Freed did some researches and found out that those pokémon were called "Unown" and there was one for every letter of their lexicon.
The green haired man realised that he found something that gave his life a true meaning, for this reason he became an archeologist.
Meanwhile, Umbreon was a bit afraid of what Freed would say about his trasformation, but then he admitted that he liked her better like that and that it would be better if they stayed together.
As time passed, the egg hatched and a Zorua came out of it, Freed traded a pokemon he found near his work place to get a Ceruledge from a person from Paldea and he also found an Absol that got abandoned by his former trainer because she was too stubborn. Freed kicked the trainer's ass and took care of Absol so good that even after she was healed, she decided to stay with him.
Laxus was a bit disappointed that Freed didn't go for the champion league, but respected his choice. Whenever he could, he would go visit him to catch up and eventually battle.
