Dunno why but I love drawing Serpine in this red suit
The skulduggery pleasant series is insane because a kid really gets killed and vivisected while she's entirely conscious. This is described in graphic detail. They really recommend these books for elementary schoolers.
Am I stupid bc in my memory the books were rated 12+
The Harpercollins US website says ages 9+ for some of the earlier books, but the one with the vivisection rates an ages 11+
Hmm ok yeah I'd definitely say 9 years old is a little young even for the first book (given the fucking torture scene) but the 11+ I could probably agree with - but then again books often have kind of a weird age rating anyway
But i think what you say in the tags clears the confusion for me the most, cuz where I'm from elementary school caps at 10 so the average age I've got in my head for that kid group is 8
I think it's different by country. In Germany it is:
Book 1: +10 years Book 2-6 (and M7): +12 years Book 7 and onward: +14 years
The moment I saw Derek tweeting about marrying Laura my immediate thought was that you probably have something incredibly petty to say about it
Amazing that this ask is how I found out about it.
Funny thing is, someone just asked me if I think Laura will ditch him after ASfoS and I was like nah. I've never been proofed right this fast, so that's kinda hilarious.
Here is a horrifying thought tho, if they are wed and Landy dies that means Laura would inherit the rights to the SP IP. Imagine SP written by Laura. You think it's bad now? It can always get worse :)
The Bulgarian SP Covers are getting a Remastered Edition
Just like the English edition, they are getting new covers, so far the first six are public. Just like their English counterparts, they are aiming for a comic-like style, it seems.
EDIT: The artist is Konstantin Vitkov-Titis.
I keep cheeking the Bulgarian book site to look for more redone covers, but apparently only the first six got new covers? Because this set released a few days ago and the spine art looks finished.
The spine art looks like it's a combination between the og book 1 cover and the og book 4 cover.
The title for book 18 will be "A Soul Full Of Shadows" with the cover featuring the skull of Cadaver Cain.
The book will release 26th of March 2026.
I got a better qulity pic from Amazon.
Ngl I don't really like them offering a book for preorder that isn't even fully planned out and thus doesn't even have a synopsis yet.
The book is also supposed to be an estimated 416 long which... they can't know the page number if it isn't even written yet? Tho I do know Landy has to stay below 500 pages because of printing costs. He mentioned that forever, I think it may have been a tweet? Dunno anymore.
Amazon is also the only retailer that already has it listed. I guess the others are waiting to get a synopsis first.
if Mev is a thin boy. Why his image from KoTW is that buff. I mean, look at his arm.
He is wearing thick chain mail and leather armour, and by the looks of it the outfit has shoulder pads too. So most of the bulk is going to be armour.
That being said, I absolutely hate this armour design. This doesn't look like the armour of a dark lord, the big bad of the war, this looks like... the armour of some random dude. Nah, Mev's armour needs more... just more of everything tbh.
Also, he forgot Mev's cloak.
The helmet is the thing that looks the best, but even that I don't really like. I made an entire post about it here, where I gave it the "Overlord" (not the anime) treatment.
TL;DR: The armour bulks up our lean, tall weed boi, but I still hate the armour design regardless. It's ugly-
How do you think Creed was feeling after almost killing his sister and betraying his siblings? In UtE after the Faceless ones disaster he seemed kinda remorseful
Probably not great.
Ngl I've only read SoW of phase 2, and I'm not a big Creed fan since I view him as the chihuahua yapping at Mevolent's wolf, so I'm the wrong person to ask. VesuviusBlotch on Reddit is a Creed fan, so you might be better off asking him instead.
The Unveiled family problem started because Creed wanted to activate Serafina. And Mevolent went "NOP"
I actually headcanon that Strosivadian was the one Creed tried to activate behind Serafina's back and that's how he ended up so deformed and disliking Creed.
On a sidenote, I lowkey headcanon Stros to look like a Church Giant from Bloodborne.
Short comic taking place in SoW about Tanith forgetting that Serpine doesn't know Star wars...
...and Serpine overthinking it
