also known as "Berger Blanc Suisse" !

they descend from a north american breed and were brought to switzerland. this was around the early 70s, and officially registered as a new breed in 1991 in Switzerland! but they didn't get added officially to the British Kennel Club until 2017!! they can be directly traced back to a single male named "Lobo" who is considered the "father" of the breed. they are powerful dogs with lean muscles, and ears that stand tall and proud.

easy to teach, train, and love being active. like most shepherd breeds they NEED activity and a job to do, a way to get out stress and anxiety or they can become destructive due to a lack of mental activity. have a great social personality that makes them perfect dogs for families, you don't typically see issues with aggression or stranger danger with these pups.

also like other shepherds the AKC and dog shows look for a nicely sloped back, that carries itself low in the hindquarters. the tail should never come above the topline of the dog. there are SO many rules for these dogs when they participate in dog shows- any slight pigmentation or overlay, and the presence of dewclaws will disqualify them (besides in countries where dewclaw removal is illegal). white shepherds were once barred completely from registry altogether

lively, alert, and intelligent. hip dysplasia is your main concern with most large dog breeds. some stomach issues and allergies are common with this breed. youre lookin at a dog that can be anywhere from 50-80lbs!
