i really like the definition of “adult human female” because it says “thats all it is. its not femininity, makeup, submissiveness, softness, anything. all it is is biology. the rest is up to the individual”

Exactly! It’s not limiting at all. There are no value judgments or social rules. It’s a neutral fact.

Women are told their whole life it is virtuous and morally right to put other people’s interests before their own….that is why women are at the front of the anti abortion movement, it is why they are such massive supporters of trans activism. Women have been socialised to believe anything just for women is not worth supporting, it is not ‘enough’ for something to just be for women

her sentencing was extremely biased, men have done worse and died natural deaths in prison and out

If you have ever been a John, you are a rapist. No two ways about it. You cannot purchase the consent of a human being. These dudes had it coming.

There really is no better example of the racism of low expectations when certain far leftists criticise condemnation of the fucking Taliban as “peak white liberal feminism.” Women and girls in Afghanistan are being systematically removed from public life, denied the right to education, freedom of movement, of dress, even the right to speak in public or to each other. Animals have more rights than women under the Taliban.

And then you have these arseholes saying it’s imposing Western cultural mores on non Western societies to care about the welfare of these women, as if Afghan men couldn’t possibly be expected to know how to treat women like fucking human beings and they have the audacity to hold themselves up as “anti racist.” You’ve clearly shown what an incredibly low opinion you actually have of non white and non Western cultures if you think the situation in Afghanistan is remotely normal or indicative.

It’s absolutely putrid.

12 years ago we were all celebrating and lifting up then-15-yo Malala Yousafzai after she was shot in the face for trying to get an education as a girl in Taliban-controlled Pakistan. She became the youngest Nobel Peace Prize winner ever just 2 years later, 10 years ago now, for her ongoing efforts to ensure all children receive an education

Yet now y'all are excusing the exact same behavior, the exact same terrorist group, the exact same systems, that got her shot in the first place bc "that's their culture." You are spitting on her, her work, and all of the other people who want equal rights for all in the Middle East when you try to stop ppl from criticizing the Taliban and other far-right fascist Islamist extremists who are objectively oppressive powers in their countries. As OP said, it absolutely is putrid.

Drag is so anti women. It isn’t pushing boundaries and it is not empowering in any kind of way, it only reinforces misogynist ideology.

We are not a caricature.

Drag is quite literally men wearing women’s oppression as a costume. So what if it’s “Gay male culture? Gay men imitating Black women, low-income pink collar workers, female stereotypes and oppressive anti-feminist stereotypes and then act offended when a woman dares to say anything.

And whenever a woman even slightly veers into drag queen aesthetic sensibilities, they act like they’re being dragged away by gestapo. When these aesthetics would not exist without women. Male drag performers imitate stereotypes that would put women in harm’s way (sexy nurse, racialized sexual tropes, names like “Anna Bortion” when women are dying for lack of abortions,) and then refuse to give women respect or credit for our originality, refuse to admit that they are imitating women. They pretend every element of drag is a completely original concept when women are the blueprint. Drag is a cheap and tasteless imitation of womynkind.

I get the allure of liberal feminism, I really do. I completely understand wanting to feel like you’re in control, like your choices are actually yours to make. Women are told from birth to look a certain way, act a certain way, be a certain way, and latching on to those ideals so tightly that it makes you feel like they were actually your idea all along is so much more comforting than the alternative. I get that.  What I don’t get is not growing past it. How long can you really tell yourself that these high heels were your idea before you have to accept that someone else put that idea in your head long before you could even say no?

How do y'all endure it all? High heels hurt. Is it really worth it?

I get the desperate allure of femininity because I have gone back to shaving and makeup many times like a toxic ex. But I can’t do it regularly. I genuinely can’t. It’s not that the pressures to do it aren’t strong enough coz they fuckin are. Femininity just feels like shit.

Physically. Heels make me feel like I’m being tortured. Makeup makes me break out and feels like plaster and gets in my eyes (I had to take a tissue out wherever I went with makeup on because my eyes and nose watered so much its unbearable) tight clothes make me so self-conscious I can’t bear it, shaving makes my legs burn for days and itch for yonks, and “being demure” I grew out of as soon as I could drink at 18 lol.

It feels like shit to feel like you’re not womaning correctly, but it’s nothing in comparison to feeling like a constricted, plastered, degraded doll. Nah. Not doing that.

"For women, only one standard of female beauty is sanctioned: the girl. The great advantage men have is that our culture allows two standards of male beauty: the boy and the man. The beauty of a boy resembles the beauty of a girl. In both sexes it is a fragile kind of beauty and flourishes naturally only in the early part of the life-cycle. Happily, men are able to accept themselves under another standard of good looks — heavier, rougher, more thickly built. A man does not grieve when he loses the smooth, unlined, hairless skin of a boy. For he has only exchanged one form of attractiveness for another: the darker skin of a man’s face, roughened by daily shaving, showing the marks of emotion and the normal lines of age. There is no equivalent of this second standard for women. The single standard of beauty for women dictates that they must go on having clear skin. Every wrinkle, every line, every gray hair, is a defeat. No wonder that no boy minds becoming a man, while even the passage from girlhood to early womanhood is experienced by many women as their downfall, for all women are trained to want to continue looking like girls." — Excerpt from Susan Sontag's 1978 essay The Double Standard of Aging

it's radical feminist shit to say men in positions of power frequently abuse women

They never do specify why it’s so bad to spew “radfem shit.” As if radical feminism is inherently bad in and of itself for no particular reason, just because men say so. The stupidity of it astounds me.

Another example of how 'radfem' is just a synonym of 'feminazi' for these people.

Bc as we all know, between a rapist, a nazi and an advocate for women’s rights (three things that are totally comparable), the women’s rights advocate is obviously so bad she is at the top of the list

Don't make me tap the sign

If i say what I want to say…

White men really think we should be offering them Sisterhood. White men really think trans status gives them proximity Black Women.

YOU. ARE. NOT. US.

Oh, look! Another white person demanding some form of emotional labor from black womyn. That's not tiring at all.

What is most annoying is that they think this is a compliment. I'm not just talking about this person regarding trans stuff, I'm talking about any non-black person who says something like this ("we can learn a lot from black womyn!").

They think framing black womyn's adaptability in a world that is constantly giving us shit like this is a compliment. They would rather flatter us than try and lessen the load.

If you’re a feminist, not everything you do has to be a feminist decision. You can make the personal decision to shave or wear makeup but as a feminist, you should investigate where this desire comes from. It’s okay to be influenced and affected by the patriarchy. It’s normal to feel pressure to conform to beauty standards. To deny that you experience pressure from beauty standards is to deny beauty standards pressuring women. To say that shaving is “for yourself” may make you feel better about giving into sexist pressures but it ultimately undermines feminism as a whole.
