Headcanon/theory that the reason there are so many time-line inconsistencies post-PJO is because that when Kronos got reduced to dust it also fucked-up time itself, one day Percy asked Annabeth "hey wise girl, what year is it" and Annabeth answers "silly, it's- uhhh..... I-I don't know....."

instead of siding with kronos, luke rallies the demigods and their mortal parents against the gods to secure child support. in this economy, hero’s glory doesn’t matter. this hits two birds with one stone: (1) demigods and their parents live without fear of destitution, and (2) the gods are forced to acknowledge their children and their old liaisons.

this also has the unexpected side-effect of the gods being competitive and trying to one-up each other by providing more and better things for their kids to show off.
