lewis hamilton during the drivers parade, japan - april 6, 2025
this is sooooo beautiful to watch especially where they were almost identical and lando was even ahead for so much of the lap and you can see exactly where max eeked out that 0.012s. really goes to show how minuscule the differences are in a perfect lap, and also their different styles, approaches to kerbs and braking!!!
if you go to very end of the video at Turn 16-17 you can see how that one braking completely erases Lando's lead. There's where Max found pole, and if he couldn't make that corner that would've binned it completely
Formula 1 track spirits / auras / wills:
Suzuka: has agency. merciless bitch. No love in her heart. Wants to be the center of attention and will resist the narrative of the season. Possibly the evil spirit of ayrton senna lingers here.
Abu Dhabi: empty. Sterile. There is such a lack of spirit that it has become a malicious malignant absence.
Interlagos: she has a will and agency of her own. She wants something to happen like suzuka but she has an innate sense of justice. She loves the drivers, but she wants them to prove themselves. Possibly the good spirit of ayrton senna lingers here.
Imola: There Is Something Dark Here That Should Not Be Disturbed We Need To Leave Now Now Now We Need To Leave NOW
Monza: tied to the mood of the tifosi has no agency of her own unlike suzuka or interlagos but can amplify the will of others. The disused old circuit does have agency however, and its influence buffs Italian teams.
Spa: spa used to have agency but the weight of history holds it down now. The environment around it, however, is alive and angry. A place that brings out the best in rivalries and friendships. Patron saint: Michael Schumacher.
Silverstone: Her eerily flat body bears slight malice towards drivers but she lacks the power to wield it except in brief moments. Watkins Glen, however, is fully capable of exercising its agency and free will.
Villeneuve Circuit: NOT alive however the wall of champions IS alive and hungry and it wills cars to hit it or not hit it to convey its judgements to us. Also that last double chicane of the lap is alive too.
Australia: she is only awake bi-yearly and whenever she is awake there is a terrible, horrible reckoning pray that she is asleep. PRAY that she is asleep.
Monaco: no agency but IS haunted by both benevolent and malicious ghosts that have wills of their own. No idea why they hate Charles.
Singapore: she gradually comes alive each weekend as the night life and Motorsport merge. Thus each year her desires and demands are a little different and it is hard to foresee her intentions.
China: ALIVE but all of her ability to think and act comes from turn 1-2 which is the most powerful and possessed turn in any F1 circuit.
His face is killing me

This is the best tag I've ever received on a post, I think

they have this sign on display when they give all the rookies media training btw
I don't know if anyone has yet but I desperately need someone to ask Christian why they thought Yuki wasn't good enough three months ago but now he is and how they even approached that conversation with Yuki. Oh and also what's the plan if Yuki struggles as well?
I want Ted Kravitz dragging James Vowels after the Australia debacle last year kind of vibe from the reporters. I want them to grill Christian about his decisions and actually get a straight answer from it
