If AFAB people were women, we'd call them women. But typically, they're not. Anyone using the "AFAB" label is someone who no longer identifies as female, hence why the label means "assigned female at birth". We don't call women AFAB because they still identify as female, there's no need to specify "at birth".

Gender ideologies only hurt egos. No cis people have been significantly hurt over a label, or a pronoun, or a name. And non-binary people aren't hurt by being themselves; in fact, it does the opposite, and we have the statistics to prove that transitioning improves mental health.
