Should I write my first real story-based fic?

I've been considering writing this Luigi x reader fic where M/C is a grad student in studio art and Luigi is one of her frat students who's just there for an easy A. Or so she assumes, cuz she has no patience for frat bro nonsense and she's a major frat bro hater...

But I'm nervous because I've never done creative writing before, just smut! The story would be quite long, only a little bit smut, and I don't really know what I'm doing or how to do it. I just have ideas for scenes. Lots.
