In 2005. Then I discovered there were more people shipping them here: https://sernando.livejournal.com/ It was a great place to post fics, photos, and gifs. Tumblr and AO3 didn’t exist yet.

How special it was to know that whenever the Spanish national team played, this would happen. Such a beautiful scene. The two of them listening to the Spanish anthem side by side. Fernando, confident; Sergio, speaking with God. I’ll miss it for the rest of my life.
