I've seen a weird uptick in people talking about transphobia they've experienced from cis women in the past few days.
Not countering anyone's experience, but just want to offer the counterpoint of hope: cis women, especially queer cis women, have been by far the most accepting of my transition among cis people. Maybe I'm lucky in that regard. But even if I am, I think it's worth mentioning that there are cis women out there who will welcome you to womanhood with open arms. The world is not always hostile.
Iβm a mostly cis queer woman and the moment you tell me you are transitioning is a beautiful thing to be celebrated! Youβre going to get to live in the body that feels right to you? That kicks ass! I want you all to have the happiness and peace and hope and love in your own body - whatever that may look like, and I want to interrupt TERFs and weird religious people who demand you follow their god and I want you to BE SAFE on this planet. I love you, and I am honored that you shared you with me. Aunt Witchy always supports you. π³οΈββ§οΈπ
<3 Thank you so much, it genuinely means a lot to see this. I think a lot of trans people right now need a reminder that they are loved by many.
From my own experience the cis women in my research lab are so supportive. Not only have they been respectful, but they just swapped over to my new name and pronouns without any hesitation. Both of them got me gifts from their native countries, jewelry and traditional women's clothing. I almost started crying. To be accepted and embraced into womanhood by them was deeply touching.
