Never was a voice designer until today, but seeing all the wonderful designs and creative art by the STP community here really made me want to stretch my character designing muscles! Even if its a little weak, I HAD to try. What better way to start than with one of my favourite voices <333

Cheated Ref!

Here’s the little guy!! In all his colourful glory!! I already knew he’d be wrapped in bandages, have a few scars here and there, have a resting bitch face, and shitty leather armour that’ll barely protect him from razor sharp blades— so his was kinda the easiest to figure out! Gave him a little scarf as a bonus because you know what he deserves it.

Im actually pretty proud with how I’ve designed my first ever voice! I thought I’d struggle abit with him, but since he reminds me of alot of characters from various media I could kinda already imagine him in my head and what he’ll be like!

I dont really base any of my designs on birds (yet) so his inspired species is a little vague.

I'm only now realizing I'm horrible at writing extremely close friends. It's not that I can't write a friendly relationship, it's that it turns into something that is immediately mistaken for romance by most not "me and my friends" people.

Take my idea for Smitten and Skeptic in that AU (school's started back up after spring break again, so maybe my hyperfixation with my own Warrior Cats OCs will subside finally and I can write about something else for a change). Skeptic!HEA is a canon route in it, but they still end up pretty close. Smitten never meant to hurt anyone involved and is struggling not just with NPD, but also feeling like he's lost his purpose now that The Princess is gone assumedly forever. Skeptic is sure that Smitten's genuine in feeling bad (even if it is more for how he ended up hurting himself just to fail in making anyone happy like he was trying to), but is also mostly concerned about how Smitten tends to hurt himself (usually accidentally) when under stress.

So how does Skeptic help Smitten calm down? Well, he basically makes a panic room with his wings. If it were Paranoid or Hunted rather than Smitten, it wouldn't have worked since it would have stressed them out more (enclosed dark space). But Smitten is fine in there, and Skeptic doesn't mind having a chat if it helps.

And even though I have my own perfectly platonic and reasonable (I hope, if you have criticisms I wouldn't mind hearing them) explanations for the most romantic-seeming actions, I can't help but think that someone would argue that it's "will they won't they" and just not accept anything else as an answer. And in some ways I find that perfectly fine because it's fun to watch people who can't think of an extremely close relationship that isn't romantic or familial try to grasp that sometimes people just are that close without being in that sort of relationship

#i also looked up empathy just to check but skeptic reads as low empathy to me somehow?#like he does tend to not grasp the emotions of others and specifically why they feel that way at least in my eyes#idk if i found good sources on that but it says that's cognitive empathy specifically#so they also just relate to each other in ways they didn't think of before and discuss that with each other#slay the princess
