i love reading sad books bc when your own grief is stopped up inside you like a clogged drain you can grieve for a character on a page and understand that you're also grieving for yourself a little bit

‘There is a theory that watching unbearable stories about other people lost in grief and rage is good for you—may cleanse you of your darkness. Do you want to go down to the pits of yourself all alone? Not much. What if an actor could do it for you? Isn’t that why they are called actors? They act for you. You sacrifice them to action. And this sacrifice is a mode of deepest intimacy of you with your own life. Within it you watch [yourself] act out the present or possible organization of your nature. You can be aware of your own awareness of this nature as you never are at the moment of experience. The actor, by reiterating you, sacrifices a moment of his own life in order to give you a story of yours.’

terfs posting their Ls

its nice to see stuff like this because it reminds you that theyre actually the weird ones. their rhetoric just relies on them portraying themselves as "voices of the people" fighting for what no one else will stand up for, despite most people probably thinking their behavior is embarrassing and not worth it. open terfs, racists, nazis, homophobes, misogynists, general transphobes- are all just extremely pissed off and angry minorities that make it everyone else's problem as much as they possibly can so that they seem bigger than they are. that doesnt mean they arent dangerous, it just means we can win. we've got a fighting chance against these losers.

yeah I’m a nonpracticing woman. I was raised female but I don’t really believe anymore yknow?

I’m culturally female. I don’t really believe in one true gender, but I do participate in some of the rituals I was raised in, when I feel like it. And I enjoy participating in the traditions of other genders too sometimes.

I’m only female on Christmas and Easter, for my parents.

this is ideology eating itself it's so amusing to me.

Like what kind of manufacturing base do you think America has right now? we're going to bring Factory Jobs back to Detroit, girlies. It's going to work, because we're Fighting Woke. Woke will Die and its death will usher in a new age of American Prosperity. By way of. Uh. Oh. Oh no. Is it supposed to do that?

"We're going to get companies to build factories in the US!! We're going to bring manufacturing back here!!" Are you?

Trump heard that Biden set money on fire with the CHIPS act and said. We can do that but with everything.

Idgaf if you don't want to write essays for school. I don't care if you don't want to write corporate emails yourself. I don't care if you can't draw well, I don't care if you can't write well, I don't care if you just really really want to talk to your favorite fictional character but don't want to RP with a real person because you have social anxiety or whatever

If you're still regularly using generative ai, chatgpt or midjourney or character.ai or literally whatever the fuck, im personally blaming you when my utility prices start going up.

Why would utility prices go up because of ai?

(I am not defending the usage of generative AI/ChatGPT/Character.ai etc etc i am very much against it - I am just curious as to the correlation between using it and utility price surge please don't come at me this is a genuine question)

Happy to help.

ChatGPT uses so much energy that the US is literally reversing course on coal and gas usage to make up for it. In Santa Clara, for example, data centers used 60% of the ENTIRE CITY'S electricity.

ChatGPT uses 1-3 bottles of water for cooling for every query you put into it. This is FRESH WATER, which is evaporated and eventually mostly returns to the ocean, effectively removing a lot of it from our already dwindling fresh water supply on the planet. It also consumes 17 THOUSAND TIMES more electricity than the average American home.

More AI use = more data centers = power drain on local cities = gas, electricity, and water utility prices rise because all of our resources are being funneled into a machine that makes garbage

The dichotomy of Brennan helping with ability score rolls for newer players:

  • Titan Takedown: Preps high-level base stats for the cast, with everyone having a 20 in their two most relevant ability scores and no one really having a genuine dump stat (no one's character has below a 14/+2 modifier in any ability), which allows the players to play to their class strengths and not have to worry about fucking up as much in a shorter, tighter campaign.
  • Fantasy High: Ally Beardsley rolls a 4 for Kristen's Dex and has to live with with the consequences of that for 6+ years

Titan Takedown is a fun contrast to Dungeons and Dragons Queens, because D&DQ had newbies with an incredible sense of fantasy performance, which gave their roleplay scenes a leg up out of the gate, and TT has newbies with an incredible sense of physical performance, so they're very intuitive with combat right away. Like, what a fun way to demonstrate the strengths of both drag queens and wrestlers in their respective fields
