LABEL COINING:
intertransfluid: when an intersex person cannot pinpoint just one gender identity due to being intersex.
What are some examples of intertransfluid?
- when you are agender or simply do not have a gender identity due to a unique way of being intersex
- cannot pinpoint if you are transfem, transmasc, transneu, or even if you are fluid between 2+ of these identities due to being intersex
- you are cis but identify as your AGAB but also don't identify with your AGAB due to being intersex
- you are genderfluid but your transition is unique due to being intersex
- you want to transition via medical intervention but experience dysphoria no matter which treatment you get (i.e. you experience dysohoria thru both E and T)
The word "fluid" is in the name. does that mean my gender identity needs to be changing to be valid?
The simple answer is no. gender is a spectrum. you can identify as one gender and have different levels of intensity one day compared to the next without your identity changing. in this case, it would be someone's relationship with their gender changing DUE TO being intersex.
Initially I was going to label this as just transfluid, but I felt that label was too broad to only include intersex people. I feel as though even detrans and double trans people could have EXTREMELY similar feelings to their gender identity even as perisex people; hence why I added the "inter" to the label.
I personally am also detrans, so maybe I'll coin a term and flag for transfluid without it being specifically for intersex people!
