Gender is Poetry

⚧Love for all the queerness of gender in all its forms.⚧ Ren/ they / fagdyke 20something

this trans day of visibility, i want to highlight and celebrate intersex trans people.

society ignores intersex trans people and tries to erase this overlap. and also ignores complex intersex experiences around gender. society denies our intersexuality, or our transness, or both. even in queer circles we are often seen as "basically cis" or "basically trans" or "intersex aka own separate species that can have nothing in common with other queer people."

intersex trans people are often denied gender affirming care. intersex trans people get their bodily autonomy attacked both as intersex and trans. even in trans accepting circles like gender clinics, we often face ignorance and incompetence.

people feel entitled to know and question our anatomy, physiology, transition goals, identities — everything about us.

our bodies belong to us. our identities belong to us. our experiences belong to us.

we deserve bodily autonomy. we deserve representation. we deserve recognition. we deserve celebration. we deserve pride.

intersex trans people, i love you.

Help a Homeless Refugee Trans Woman Get Permanent Housing

I have been homeless since my suicide attempt in January 2024 (so, 14 months) and I live in the worst hotel in the world, that has a shower that electrocutes me and a floor that is always sticky no matter what. If you could smell this place you would kill yourself.

Long story short, now that I'm documented, I'm grounded in this overpriced city for at least a couple weeks for medical reasons. But after that I'm going to be looking for an apartment, and I need tumblr's help both to be alive until then and also to do everything that entails.

I am a homeless refugee who has no support from friends or family.

Cleavage: Men, Women and the Space Between Us

Jennifer Finney Boylan’s She’s Not There was the first bestselling work written by a transgender American. Since its publication twenty years ago, she has become the go-to person for insight into the impact of gender on our lives, from the food we eat to the dreams we dream, both for ourselves and for our children. But Cleavage is more than a deep dive into gender identity; it’s also a look at the difference between coming out as trans in 2000—when many people reacted to Boylan’s transition with love—and the present era of blowback and fear. How does gender affect our sense of self? Our body image? The passage of time? The friends we lose—and keep? Boylan considers her womanhood, reflects on the boys and men who shaped her, and reconceives of herself as a writer, activist, parent, and spouse. With heart-wrenching honesty, she illustrates the feeling of liminality that followed her to adulthood, but demonstrates the redemptive power of love through it all. With Boylan’s trademark humor and poignancy, Cleavage is a sharp, witty, and captivating look at the triumphs and losses of a life lived in two genders. Cleavage provides hope for a future in which we all have the freedom to live joyfully as men, as women, and in the space between us.

I'm headed home for the holidays, so I made this very simplified watered down comic to explain why I got top surgery!

It's obviously much more complex than I could fit into words, let alone a little comic, but I hope it resonates with someone! 🏳️‍⚧️✂️

Happy Trans Day of Visibility!

Here's a comic I made in 2022 about having top surgery! 🏳️‍⚧️

Happy trans day of visibility!

I’m stressed and exhausted constantly! I get stared at in public! I worry about losing access to lifesaving medical care constantly! I cannot get a legal passport! There are people in my life who think I’m a mentally ill predator, a position the government also holds! I feel the need to continue to do sexwork as a fallback, because it’s incredibly hard to find work as a trans woman in my state! (Which means I spend half my time placating men who jerk off to me, but wouldn’t publicly admit to thinking I’m a woman!) every day is a drain that leaves me as more and more of a husk!

And I’m one of the lucky ones!

To be clear, even now it was worth it. better than life before, I get to see the world in color, etc. wouldn’t take it back for anything in the world.

if you are financially comfortable and want to sponsor me getting a cheesesteak or hoagie later, my cashapp is is cash.me/$qmarquess

On a mission to demystify bottom surgery for girls like

no the risk of complications is not as high as you think

no you dont need to only go to one of two expensive surgeons, you can get good results in tons of places that your insurance will cover

no you wont lose ur trans status or be exiled from the community

yes you will get wet and cum and have a cute vulva and never need to tuck again

something that needs to be adressed around bottom surgery is that it is SO difficult to find examples of post-recovery patients, which is understandable because hey, its ya genitals, not everyone wants to show them off...

Except that there are myriad examples of how it looks during and immediately after surgery. That isn't the case for any other gender affirming surgery, that the post-surgery images would be so widespread and yet the post-recovery images would be all but absent. You don't even get that for top surgery, it's always bottom surgery. This applies broadly too, not just vaginoplasty but phalloplasty and orchiectomy too. Always bleeding incisions and bruising stitches and never actual results. shits whack

Just verified this, I tried to find "Vaginoplasty post-recovery examples", and all that came up were images of the complications, and mid-surgery images. I am fully convinced this is intentional, to prevent trans people from wanting to get bottom surgery.

Idk if its intentional but it is entirely true that I quite literally had to start hooking up with post op trans women to get an idea of what a trans woman's vagin looks like and how it works!!!

I will never forget when I learned about John Robert Brown and had the moment of clarity where I realized that a lot of scaremongering over what people claim to be routine complications for bottom surgery are actually the results of this man's botched surgeries specifically.

Transphobes are walking around talking about the botched surgeries of a man who lost his medical license and was convicted of second degree murder for his medical negligence as though these are typical results, and it's just absolutely stomach churning for me.

Perhaps not all of them realize this is what's happening (these people tend to spread misinformation like the plague), but the people that started this game of telephone had to know. I have an extremely difficult time believing they didn't know what they were doing and that this wasn't intentional. They'll do anything to stop people from exercising their bodily autonomy.

For a reference of not botched images... We've used transbucket website and r/Transgender_Surgeries on reddit to see volunteered images of different transfeminizing bottom surgery post-op pics in early and later recovery to have a realistic sense of expectations and options. You need a transbucket account and reddit account respectively to see the images (for reddit, to see "nsfw images"). Though fair warning that early and post-recovery images are often posted together. The reddit board also has other useful informations.

The list of websites and surgeons are often U.S. centric, while the wikis tend to have other country options. So, here's some surgery and surgeon options:

Usually, which insurance are accepted depends on the surgeon, but as long as the surgeon is well-rated and not being warned about, if they accept your insurance and referral it isn't necessary to pick only the most praised surgeons. Each surgeon (that hasn't been blacklisted or warned about) has their own techniques, pros and cons, and merits.

Hopefully with this information, it makes bottom surgery seem less scary for the girls with bottom dysphoria.

She still needs $60 more to replace her phone, and she needs $490 to renew her motel in 2 days! Please share and donate! If 55 people each send $10 that is enough!

Can anyone send $30 so she can get something to eat at least?

March 27, 2025

Food and phone are covered. She still needs $490 by TOMORROW! If 49 people each send $10 that is enough! But please share this post because i’m worried we won’t reach people in time!

nothing raised yet 😔 my wife hasnt been able to access most of her apps (including her pay apps) bc of issues with the loaner phone she's been using, so i really need that $25 asap. having the additional $40 to cover groceries we werent able to get would help a ton as well.

Trans/Rad/Fem by Talia Bhatt

Second-Wave feminism is, today, nearly synonymous with ‘transphobia’. Any mention of this era or the movement of ‘radical feminism’ conjures images of feminists allying with right-wingers and the authoritarian state, providing legal justification for outlawing gender-affirming care and spreading deeply evil caricatures of trans women to rationalize their exclusion as feminist subjects. In the ensuing struggle to reconcile trans rights with feminism, the specter of the trans-exclusionary radical feminist has often reared its head in opposition. One may be tempted to conclude that the Second Wave, as a whole, has done irreparable harm to feminist, queer and trans politics, and must be discarded entirely.

But is that truly the case?

Radical feminism also is responsible for repudiating bioessentialistic notions of gender with theories that place it as a firmly social phenomenon. It gave us the language to describe patriarchy as a regime of mandatory heterosexual existence and dared to dream of a post-gender existence long before anyone spoke the phrase “breaking the binary”. Modern transfeminism owes much to radical feminist theory, and despite all propaganda to the contrary, the two schools of thought may be far more allied than believed.

This series of essays aims to reconstruct and reintroduce the radical feminist framework that its misbegotten inheritors seem determined to forget and in doing so boldly makes the claim that transfeminism, far from being antagonistic to radical feminism, is in fact its direct descendant. It shows how a comprehensive social theory of transsexual oppression flows almost naturally from radical feminist precepts and dares to declare that a materialist, radical transfeminism is the way forward to seize the foundations of patriarchy at the root.

Netanyahu has returned to war, returned to killing and destruction again. Our tent is in a border area. We couldn't even sit in it. We had to work and clean it. Now we're going to leave it. Where will we live? I am sick today from the intensity of fear of the Israeli occupation's dog strikes. I could not do anything for my sick parents who needed medicine, nutrition and food, and I could not do anything. They killed up to 1000 martyrs and more in a matter of hours, so what about the wounded? This is our chance. I am here now. I don’t know. I might die today, tomorrow, or even now. Donate Donate, my friend. You don’t know how I feel when I tell you to donate.

he's been going through a lot and the condition is absolutely unlivable for anyone. he's close to his goal as well so if you donate i would appreciate it
