"no terfs" and yet the flag in your pfp is notorious for being made by one

hi anon, while i will admit that the lipstick lesbian flag used in pfp is horrible outdated and the creator is a vile person- this blog has been inactive for close to 4 years. like don't quote me on this but i genuinely don't think the sunset lesbian flag was super popular at the time i abandoned this blog, and i don't think i knew about the creator of the flag used in the pfp at the time.

The reason Queer Eye is so influential is partly because there’s no other show like it. No one’s going to write a gay Muslim. No one’s going to write a super feminine and flamboyant guy with long hair who wears all types of clothing without him being a punchline at best. The reason this show resonates so much with people is because they can find a piece of themselves in every one of the Fab Five, and in a good way. The show portrays gays being touchy feely friends with big hearts who just want to help people, and that’s kind of spectacular.

Janelle Monae is making her tour a place where people can register to vote!

She is such positive force for change and just so wonderful I cant get over it😭

Half of being trans is being hypervigilant against transphobes. Like, I spent 15 minutes scrolling down on a blog that I would be super interested in just to make sure that it wasn’t going to start reblogging stuff from my favorite transmisogynists. Turns out that my hypervigilance was right again.

Things to look for:

  • References to “vagina envy.” This is what initially got me scrolling. This alone isn’t a sure indicator.
  • Andrea Dworkin quotes without criticism
  • Reblogging from troll accounts like confirmed-/-terf

Most cis wlw on Tumblr are, in fact, supportive of trans people. Most cis wlw who mention “hating men” are not using this as an attack on trans women. However, because of my experience with the small, insular, and vitriolic trans-exclusionary feminists on Tumblr, I have learned to be hypervigilant and it Really Fucking Sucks and Really Fucking Hurts when I am right.

I am a lesbian. This kind of blog would have been My Shit. But I’ve been taught to distrust the very women I connect with the most. I’ve been taught to feel afraid in my own home.

Being a transgender lesbian is constantly walking on eggshells to not prove them right. And their standards are ever changing so it’s inevitable that you’ll prove them right. Righteous anger will be taken as “male propensity towards violence,” which closely mirrors the way men see outspoken women as “shrill.” If we do anything to fight back outside of debate within their terms, we are immediately casted as “violent men.” They will not be satisfied until we shut up, lie down, and die.

Cis wlw can and should reblog this. Help me remember my allies.

examples of terf rhetoric: misgendering of trans women, aligning trans women with sexual predators, banning trans women from women only spaces, “drop the t” etc

things that are literally not related to terfs: lesbians proudly calling themselves lesbians, lesbians not wanting to be called “queer”, lesbians expressing their distaste in men, lesbians who fit the “man hating dyke” stereotypes, lesbians who refuse to accept anyone who isn’t a gay/trans person into the lgbt, lesbians just in general

hello i just want to say that i understand the thought process behind “wlw cant fetishize women” and i understand where this comes from but also its still relevant to the conversation to talk about how white wlw sexualize woc. i saw a post claiming that bringing this up is derailing and that “ppl know what we mean” but i really dont think it is!

white wlw need to be aware of how they view woc. they need to be conscious of this sexualization. conscious of how they speak about our bodies. conscious of how they touch us. conscious of their expectations on our sexuality and wants and desires. white women have a long history of violence! yall contribute to our fetishization and abuse!! its relevant to the conversation and it may be uncomfortable to acknowledge but it needs to be said and heard.

a woman viewing another woman sexually is not inherently dehumanizing, but you still need to take into consideration the way race plays into it.

hi! I’m samir and I identify as hijra (an east indian/south asian trans/nonbinary identity) and to my knowledge there is no existing flag so I have made one.

pink and blue are for those of us who identify with binary genders as trans people, while the white is for those of us who are nonbinary

the red represents the divinity we were blessed with by Rama

non-hijra please share!!

more resources for LGBT+ muslims 🕌🏳️‍🌈💖

i tried to compile as many as i could find, some of these aren’t specifically for muslim lgbt but i still think they could be useful to us. please share this post!

heres your daily reminder that lesbian and terf aren’t synonyms. the lesbian flags have nothing to do with terfs. just because some terfs identify as lesbians, does not make all lesbians transphobic trash. if you associate all lesbians with terfs then you need to sit down and realize how lesbophobic that actually is. lesbians aren’t evil pieces of crap like terfs are. if you see a lesbian flag in an icon or a lesbian url and your first thought is ‘oh no, maybe they’re a terf’ then you need to reanalyze your way of thinking and realize that thinking that way only fuels lesbophobia.

Is nobody seeing the correlation with these new MAP flags intentionally trying to look like the Lesbian/NB lesbian flags

Like hey guys I’m thankful that you’re bringing this to attention so nobody gets duped by them, but please recognize that this is a very obvious attempt to defame the lesbian community (especially since a most lot of these flags were created and used by 4chan trolls).

I’ve seen people post screenshots of the blogs using these flags and a lot of them have descriptions that read “lesbian”/“nb lesbian” and something like dogkin attached to it.

It’s clear that the rise of lesbophobia and scapegoating on this site has led to trolls creating fake flags and accounts to spark discourse and more hatred towards lesbians and I really don’t want you guys to fall for it and start accusing lesbians of being pedophiles or some stupid shit like that.

I really want to say y’all are too smart to know this but you guys aren’t recognizing these patterns and I’ve watched you guys accuse lesbians of being every single awful label under the sun (y’all really love the word predatory huh) so please. Don’t fall for this.

also anybody who claims to be ok with bi women but not lesbians, or vice versa, is full of shit and actually hates all of us and the sooner we learn that the better. it’s gendered homophobia girls.

I know we touch on this fairly often but we really need to be emphasizing to these young LGBTs how important getting out there and mingling in the community is because we end up with 14 year-olds telling people that Drag is transphobic and twink and bear are slurs

You shouldn’t be treating nb people like the secret sexy 3rd gender. Nb people don’t look like a mash of male and female, they’re not sexy androgynous twinks

white skinny androgynous nb people reblogging this and saying shit like “Well this is what I look like! So I feel represented!” Are literally part of the problem. I’m not saying that no nb people are white/skinny/andro, I’m saying that those are the only type of nb bodies that get represented

its nice, isnt it, when nonbinary people are visibly distinct from binary people? its easy, isnt it? you can remember to use “they” for people who have no visible breasts or beards, right? no need to challenge the notion of male vs female if nonbinary people have their own look, isnt that right?

its time to step the fuck up and really understand that nonbinary looks like anybody. nonbinary looks like you. nonbinary looks like your family and friends and it looks like the strangers who you thoughtlessly call “he” or “she” because of their appearance.

really supporting nonbinary people means understanding that theres no visual tell - you wont recognise all of us as nonbinary on sight. you have to actually LISTEN to us. you have to BELIEVE us. and it means challenging your assumptions about gender, starting with the assumption that youre an ally to trans people while youre still doing puerile shit like gendering body parts and clothes.

NONBINARY LOOKS LIKE ANYBODY. ANY BODY CAN BE NONBINARY.

Alright I’ve realized something bad happening

As some of you may know, theres a map “””pride””” flag going around

What sucks more than pedophiles claiming to be lgbt is that lgbt pedos are mixing this flag with other identities. Heres the problem, besides the fact they are celebrating pedophilia and dragging the lgbt+ community down with them, the lesbian map flag has this color scheme

Look familiar to any one? That’s because its very similar to the nonbinary lesbian pride flag

The hues are slightly different and theres no white stripe in the nonbinary lesbian flag All i want yall to know is to be careful. Try to learn the differences so that innocent nonbinary lesbians arent accused of being pedos. If you have the nb lesbian flag in your icon do whatever you see fit to handle this (change it, keep it, this, that, etc. it’s your choice). Just a little psa for everyone out there so that you know whos what out there.
