felt like posting again lol

been up to my neck with school projects but it occurred to me i still have a bunch of Wayne related animations i never posted !! i’ll try posting them sporadically lol

here’s a lip sync animation assignment from last semester🥄i picked Wendell as my model so naturally i had to use audio from Aqua Teen Hunger Force :))

(SIDENOTE! incase anyone was wondering, i do infact use my own OCs for more creatively-driven assignments !! but with homework like this where the point is just to practice basic animation principles, i find it really motivating and fun to work with WttW characters. i owe a lot of my artistic development to the show after all! <3 and i only use this blog for Wayne stuff lol. follow me on instagram @gianimations if you wanna see more of my original work :3)

PHEW it’s been awhile since i’ve posted….mb school has been schooling😵‍💫

Was assigned to do a puppet rig + animation for class and decided to use Dennis as my model ^_^ The audio used originates from Shannon in Home Movies, who’s also voiced by Emo Philips. Fun fact, Dennis’ character was heavily inspired by Shannon, given Billy Lopez’s love for Home Movies !!

Background was just a screenshot taken from S1 Ep17 that i added for fun (since it wasn’t a requirement for the assignment lol). My work isn’t supa perfect and DEFINITELY not close to replicating official WttW animation, but my teacher seemed to like it and i loved getting to study Dennis’ movements/design 🦐🩷

our homework for the week was to animate a walk cycle, so of COURSE i had to animate the Arcsine‼️

im considering this a WIP because i miiight add some extra details if i have time lol. (i also attempted doing this in the Peanuts art style :P dont know if it worked or not, but i do have more doodles of the Gyre kids in the Peanuts style that i should probably finish and post eventually)

Doodles of what i envisioned Dennis’ mom to be like :0

Although we never met Dennis’ dad, we do know a few details about him, like how he’s a stock market investor (and very rich lol). So here’s some HCs i thought of for Dennis’ mom! :

- Right off the bat, i dont think either of his parents are very good people lol, and they split when Dennis was pretty young.

- I think Mrs O’Bannon would’ve been a model. Dennis inherits his perfect hair from her, and his obsession with constantly striking a cool pose stems from watching his mother in photoshoots as a child. Little guy went home afterward and spent hours in the mirror trying to replicate his mother’s hair flips…

- Mrs O’Bannon definitely would’ve had more interest in spending time with Dennis when he was a cute tiny baby; i.e, when she could show him off. After that, she made less of an effort to bond with him. Not great !

- Post-divorce, Mrs O’Bannon seems like the type of woman who will drop in once every few months to dote on Dennis and spoil him for a day (exclusively because she feels momentary Baby Fever), before dipping out and not talking to him for another few months.

- I don’t think Dennis’ mom or dad are necessarily cruel toward him (at least not intentionally). My idea of it is that they’re both just too career-driven and selfish to raise a child, and have no idea how to be there for Dennis other than to spoil him.

- I think Dennis would realise his frustrations with his parents more as a teenager, especially after having the positive influence of the Gyre and becoming more aware of his repressed childhood turmoil (i mean no offence but normal children don’t walk around the Wayne pelting others with tennis balls).

- Adding on to that, maybe when Dennis is a teen, he impulsively cuts his hair short one time as a way of rebelling against his mom’s influence (and he regrets it immediately because he loves his hair). Never again.

Might add on stuff if i think of anything else lol. I have a fair amount of HCs about his dad too, but Mrs O’Bannon is a lot more interesting to think about to me

For context, i envisioned this would happen when they’re teens and it’s about how Saraline would find out Leif and Dennis are dating (imo they would try to hide their relationship for a while). I’ll post more of my teen Gyre doodles eventually probably
