Louis can't sing and thats basically canon. But if they go all the way with the meta promo a Raleigh Ritchie collaboration bonus track in the album starts feeling not impossible. I will implode if that happens and feels like I wouldnt be the only one.
... true. ๐
I mean, Lestat could, theoretically, do duets and collaborations with a whole lot of "real" artists... and Raleigh Ritchie is one.
So yes, it is possible. And I hope, hope, HOPE AND PRAY that they do that, that they bring it to the meta level, that they do fake Instagram profiles, and online feuds, and what not.
There is SO MUCH possibility. *happy sigh*
I wouldn't say Louis "can't sing" is canon. We hear him sing- and even harmonize- with Lestat when they sing Happy Birthday to Claudia. His voice is established as beautiful in the show... However, it is also established that Louis hasn't liked performing since his brother's death. It's not that he can't sing, it's that performance of any kind, has been badly tainted by trauma. I can actually see Louis singing part of one of Lestat's songs to him when they reunite, or perhaps they sing a little together, but only in private.

Right, fuck this. In the spirit of โbe the change you want to seeโ, I think we should celebrate Assad Zaman, because fuck knows AMC wonโt, so someone has to step up to the plate.
Hereโs a Ten Things I Love Aboutย Assadโs Performance As Armand list:
- The way his voice cracks ever so slightly on the word donated in the Louvre monologue. Also, the entire Louvre monologue.
- The hand acting. Thanks to @platoapproved for this gif set which illustrates what I mean.
- โDo you find me boring?โ Like, obviously, all of 2x05, but that line reading, terrifying and obsessive and heartbreaking and childlike all at once.
- The stillness. The way he can be completely still and nevertheless absolutely mesmerising.
- Contrasted with gremlin mode in San Francisco when he is anything but still. This post from @hypermania is a great analysis of his physicality and acting choices in this scene.
- The micro expressions. The sixteen layers of emotions including three Iโve never even heard of before in some of the reaction shots. The way the directors clearly understand this and hold the camera on his faceย so that we can watch Assad showing us Armandโs brain at work without a word being said.
- His French accent.
- The way he sits down on the couch next to Madeleine.
- Just how fucking cool he looks on the motorbike in the hunting scene.
- Sauntering back into the Dubai apartment in his cunty sunglasses and tragically misplaced confidence.
Feel free to add your own thoughts in notes or reblogs. Letโs appreciate the hell out of him.
Tom at the Olivier Awards today.
I don't care what 'side' of the fandom you're on, the executive producer of the show saying that the rest of the cast don't matter during an FYC event should have all of us OUTRAGED!
Sam was clearly made very uncomfortable by the commentโas he should be! Because understands that the show is a collaborative effort. He loves and appreciates his costars, and he would never undermine their talent or seek to unfairly place himself above them.
Sam understands Jacob's vital importance as the lead of the show, and the amount of responsibility and work that entails. For Jacob to be entirely dismissed by Mark Johnson, even as a casual joke, is not only incredibly disrespectful, it's also detrimental to the show as a whole.
I know people in this fandom love to argue about everything, but there are no sides to this issue. It's one of the few things we should all collectively rally behind. This show would be nothing without Jacob Anderson, Assad Zaman, Delayne Hales, Eric Bogosian, Bailey Bass, and their contribution deserves to be highlighted as much as Sam's.
Oh my.
daniel molloy character of all time once again: like imagine youโre a 20-something drug addict and a terrible journalist on account of being 20-something and a drug addict and you randomly meet a vampire at a gay bar and you think wow I might get drugs, gay sex and a story out of this and instead what you get is psychologically and physically tortured by his husband and your memories of it all erased and then 50 years later youโre DYING and those vampires show up in your life again to ask you to write the story of their happy marriage and your memory might be fucked but ON GOD you WILL ruin that marriage if itโs the last thing you do. and then not only do you succeed and walk out of it alive, but also with a bestseller, millions in your bank account AND immortality AND the knowledge that your annoying human ass was somehow the one thing that made that 500+ year old predator so mad that he broke his lifetime vow to never turn anyone. AND, on top of that, youโre out of the CLOSET.
Armand name dropping the film โnow ,voyagerโ is foreshadowing his future character arc (analysis)
You know how Iwtv is constantly references plays, films ,and paintings to foreshadow plot points or allude to character arcs or motivations ? I really hope Armand dropping the film title โnow, voyagerโ is alluding to the Armand and Benji dynamic in future seasons . And also Armandโs character arc in general.
The main character Charlotte is paralleled to Armand on multiple occasions . Charlotte had an abusive-controlling parent that was her โcompanionโ and who treated her like a โservant โ (cough Marius /Armand parallel). Charlotte is mistaken as a nurse ,went by a (fake) French alias, and was also called a โfledglingโ .In one scene Charlotte discusses โimmortality โ and jokes that sheโs โimmune to burnsโ (like she is to happiness) and says sheโd be grateful to simply get โcrumbs โ of romantic affection (hello, Armand ) Charlotte also says another character is a โCharlotte also says another character is a โgift โ from their ex (Armand says Daniel was a โgift from Louisโ,in the books) . Thereโs even a scene where she shows her love interest an old (unrecognizable) picture of herself, refers to the image of herself in the 3rd person , and then mentions her past trauma.
She also mentions how she was so desperate for romantic love that she did sexual things that her romantic competition wouldnโt . She even says she really doesnโt understand romantic love (despite wanting it) so she just repeats things sheโs heard in romance books. Armand also recited Romeo and Juliet ( to Louis), and didnโt understand that -thatโs not love but infatuation. And of course the infatuation between the 2 led to a blood bath of those around them (the Romeo & Juliet reference foreshadowing the coven and claudeleineโs fate).
Also Charlotte starts mentally healing after becoming a foster parent to a 12 y old (who reminds her of her past self). Hmm like 12 y old Benji who was sold by his parents and exploited and abused (who Armand later fosters)?
