Which track "From the Vault" most represents Silvia? Which re-recording would they be most excited for? (rep and debut are on the table even though they haven't been released)
AND
Which Eras is Eleanora's favorite? Which Eras tour performance is their favorite? (Not necessarily their favorite song at the eras tour but favorite performance. Costume, dancers etc.)
Okay. Alright. I was thinking about this all through the episode of the Righteous Gemstones I watched tonight which probably didn't help with information retention for the show. Oh well.
From the Vault, I think it's going to be Castles Crumbling. I feel like the departure pre VG for her is bad™. She had no one for so long and then had this strange sibling-esque relationship with Viago and a genuine friendship blossoming with Teia.
She is respected (as much as Viago can tbh... I have thoughts) and good at what she does even if that is murder for hire. There's direction in her life and then it all blows up in her face for ultimately doing the right thing. The fall out I think is explosive. Fights are had. Words are said. Bridges fuckin burnt. She leaves angry, hurt, and ready to never go back even after the job with Varric. I don't think we talk about most Rooks' falls from grace enough anyway, but Silvia's is bad. Anyway, love my girl and her burnt bridges and her rage ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I don't know if it's me projecting, but I feel like Silvie is a Rep girlie and will absolute shit whenever that TV drops (and same). Because if we're real and going through the discography, prime Crow Silvia is an I Did Something Bad seductress with poisons and knives and many shades of red lipstick.
Ella loves a good Vigilante Shit moment. The body suits. The movement. It's all so good. Also the song. Most problems can be solved with an axe but she's not above petty revenge.
(also I can't pick one so here I am)
The whole Evermore ✨ambiance✨ speaks to her. Willow with the cloaks and the fog machines? It's everything. Just pure hype from Ella all day.
Also she loves the joy in the costuming and choreography and performance of Karma all day everyday.
These made me think and now I also need to go cry abt Silvia byeeeeee
I think that writing what you want to read is so fun? Because A) you get something you want to read B) you get to watch it unfurl C) you get to cry over telling your own stories.
Writing you didn't see to the end you wanted isn't wasted. It's practice. Art you didn't polish as far as you wanted isn't wasted, it's practice. Sometimes you have to put a thing down 80 times and figure out why it doesn't work 80 times and then the 81st (or 200th, or 5,000th, or whatever) time you nail it because you know what to avoid and how to express what you want.
And sometimes you never finish that thing in your head, but I am saying again, that time was never wasted. Things don't have to be complete to be worthwhile. Your work has worth even if no one else ever sees it, even if you don't get a gold medal for it, because it is making you a stronger artist. It is giving you experience. It is helping you hone your skills.
It's not wasted.
Oh no, I just read Bellara's journal entry on Davrin's death
Me, reading my fic drafts: Damn this is pretty good, when's the author gonna finish it?
wip wednesday
technically I was tagged last week by @thesecollidinghearts (ty<3), but a wednesday is a wednesday!
tormented by rookanis thoughts.......
(they/them for my rook<3)
tagging @flowersforthemachines, @symphorine, @rookinthecrownest, @inquisimer, and @corvus-frugilegus, if any of you have anything to show off!
You ever think about how Lucanis Dellamorte's hobby is cooking. Lucanis "got stabbed ten times by a giant hair spider abomination, will not see a healer about it" Dellamorte. Lucanis, who knows he's going to get himself killed and says that's totally fine because assassination is what he was made for. Lucanis "living knife" Dellamorte. His hobby is cooking, especially elaborate meals, something most people would do for their friends or family, or perhaps as a minor form of bribery. Lucanis has one (1) friend, avoids social gatherings, and is not a good manipulator. He trains a ridiculous amount because, again, living weapon. And then instead of drinking a fantasy protein shake he makes decadent, time-consuming meals to keep his perfect assassin self alive. He doesn't have anyone to cook for. He spends most of his time away from his own kitchen. He is not terribly interested in most forms of physical pleasure. He likes to make churros.
29 for pookie lucanis please!
This was EASILY the most requested and I’m SOOOO glad we all agree Lucanis is a wrist kisser 🙂↕️
WIP Wednesday
Oh it's my favorite day of the week!
Thanks for the tag @mythals-whore
I started writing this fucking companion Davrook self indulgent modern AU to the silly Rookanis one I have bubbling in my brain.
And I outlined a five part whirlwind romance for them, so we'll see if I can actually stick to that plan.
ANYWAY
Consider this a tag to WIP your Wednesday if you haven't already (I am in bed with a minimally functioning brain rn about to fall asleep)
Veilguard Appreciation Week Day 3 - Hossberg Wetlands || Hope
I was only planning to do one post for @veilguard-appreciation-week but this morning I woke up with the sudden urge to draw the best little girl in Thedas - Mila!
The first time I played the Siege of Weisshaupt I was so terrified of doing something that was going to get her hurt or killed- I knew how Dragon Age games liked to do things, after all. The fact that she survives and gets to reunite with her father was so incredible to me- it was one of the first big notes in Veilguard that showed me the story was trying to say something different than the previous entries.
The whole Grey Wardens plotline is about rebuilding- rebuilding the order, rebuilding the world after the Blight, bringing the griffons back. And we all know Brona’s Bloom is an obvious symbol of that- the game makes it explicit. But I think Mila herself is also a significant part of that narrative- a little girl in the midst of the worst attack Weisshaupt has ever seen, using her bravery and determination to reunite with her father and SURVIVE. A little girl who represents the future of Thedas, the Wardens, Hossberg itself and she gets to thrive!!
In the idealized version of DA5 that exists in my head, she comes back…….maybe as a party member……..
