The rest of the ship has been trained on the equivalent to the standard QWERTY keyboard and Tom unilaterally decides he likes his configuration of controls better and everyone who uses the Flyer has to be specially trained for this one stupid little ship.

Then they get into an emergency situation which happens every episode and all of their panic training has been for standard shuttle crafts and in a split second decision they press the wrong red button and the enemy ship blows them up.

It just feels like when a manager decides to make things complicated for a system everyone uses and then they get mad when there is a constant stream of mistakes.
