JENNA FISCHER AS PAM BEESLY IN THE OFFICE SEASON FOUR
favourite sage out of THESE THREE. no tulin, because i’m sick of there being a massive gap between him and the others. appreciate different weapons and fighting styles, not just archery, and tulin has an unfair advantage anyways, since he can fly and is constantly with link. this sounds like i’m hating on tulin but i actually love him i just don’t like how unequal people’s favouritism makes it.
i’ll never get enough of the reversed vocals/choir in TOTK like they always give me goosebumps. the shrine completion music and going down below hyrule castle hits different, and it gives a breath of fresh air the game needed to make it stand out.
the fact the vocals are reversed also fits with the theme of the game and foreshadows in a way, that zelda goes back in time, so it’s like the music is recalling the past in a way.
the blood moon building up music also counts in this regard i think. even if it isn’t reversed it still gives similar/the same effect.
I'd like to think the Four Champions are watching my adventures and commentating on it like a TV show bc I think it would be hilarious.
Like, just imagine them watching me be stupid and either laughing at me or being frustrated by my idiocy.
I just know Mipha probably developed a drinking problem because of the amount of times I died and got healed only to be knocked off a cliff, shot by a guardian, or zapped.
Elliot from stardew valley feels like the human version of Sidon to me.
- literally looks like a prince with his long hair and clothes - like sidon
- lives on a beach, next to the sea, water (zora’s element is water, and live in a watery place)
- is romantic and is very articulate when speaking like sidon
- has red hair (or red scales in sidon’s case) and is long like sidon’s tail
- very poetic and well spoken (elliot writes books, sidon’s writing on the stone tablets)
- “the new farmer who has sparked conversation”
“you must be a strong warrior among the hylians, correct?”
- sidon would probably like the same stuff as elliot: crab cakes, squid ink, duck feather, lobster, pomegranate….
etc….
Since people seem weirdly interested in my info dump about Rito bows, I feel I may as well point out another thing.
I see it mentioned a lot that Revali's bow has this scrap of fabric tied to it and people theorising in fanfiction that it's something sentimental or represents something.
But it's actually fairly common to tie a piece of fabric to your bow, and you'll see that the other Rito bows have a feather attached to the supports for the same reason - because it shows the direction the wind is blowing.
Having something loose hanging from the top of your bow means you can see what direction the wind is blowing and how strong the wind is by the way that thing is moving in your peripheral vision without having to take your eye off the target.
So yeah! Another bow fact of the day for you guys from your resident archery nerd and birb boi enthusiast.
and tulin got revali’s bow with his scarf on it… like his soul guiding tulin…. *cries*
i know link’s iconic look is him with a ponytail but i’m actually obsessed with him with his hair down in TOTK like i don’t know what it is he just looks more relaxed and feminine with it down and just… more free? and the elemental outfits has it down too…
so that’s a reason why i’m not as critical as other ppl when playing totk because i enjoy the littlest things like just playing as link with his flowing hair and wearing the charged set like i just enjoy that 😭
people are always bullying yunobo and i can understand why, the gorons character design are so unserious and a bit stupid compared to other of the races, BUT- i do have a good thing to say about his character.
his development from BOTW to TOTK is so underrated.
like in BOTW he is insecure and could never see himself as a leader.
whereas in TOTK, after you’ve *spoiler
done the crisis at hyrule castle (the phantom ganon fight) he goes back to goron city and acts like a mature leader: when you talk to him he observes the other gorons and keeps note of what they need and what problems need solving, so he basically gives you side quests to do around goron city, which really makes him feel like a leader. well, i think he literally is a leader because he has his own company and it’s named after him. so he also has his own company now and just overall has a more leader role and it makes me really happy to see how he’s grown. it has been a while since i’ve played botw tho so i can’t exactly remember how he was in that but i do remember him not being very confident. we love character growth
believe it or not, he’s actually the sage who can talk to you the most and have an actual conversation with, and not just say how they’re preparing for the demon king. he actually talks about what’s going on in his region and this made me feel more connected to him tbh. the other sages are just like “we’re preparing for the demon king” and then don’t say anything else. so don’t discredit my silly goron like that. he’s grown a lot.
and now he has daruk’s boulder breaker too <3 daruk would be proud 🥹🔨
from the zelda wiki:
As a Goron he is strong enough to lift a boulder and punch through it. Like his ancestor, Daruk, he can use Daruk's protection for both defensive and offensive properties.
When he got older, he can use his ancestors weapon as well. Like any other goron, he can roll in a ball and can use this for both maneuverability and attacks,
but unlike the other gorons, he can infuse fire into his rolling ability, along with his weapon, causing an explosion that can break down marbled rock roast, and cracked rock walls, when he got his ancestors secret stone, his fire powers amplified greatly.
so many people also are annoyed by him saying “goro” all the time but i think it’s cute 😭 makes me feel like we’re best buddies idc
i can understand why people don’t like the sages, but i have some good points about them:
sidon actually has a lot of uses. they might just not be as obvious. i used to seem him as pretty useless too but i’ve discovered he can actually be pretty useful:
- rapid fire spear weapon so can do multiple hits in one go. i found this the most useful for gleok’s when they’ve been hit down. i’ve experienced this a lot playing TOTK recently, once you hit the gleok eyes enough, it comes crashing down to the ground, and whenever i’ve done this in game sidon has immediately ran up to the gleok eyes/heads and does rapid hits in succession. he does the most hits to gleoks along with Tulin. this is especially helpful because Gleoks are considered hard. this is the advantage he has for the weapon he uses. it is faster at hitting than one handed sword/blade weapons.
- zora weapons. when they are wet from sidon (😏) they become the most powerful weapons in the game - up to 150 for one handed weapons, and around 170 for two handed.
- shields you from damage, especially for molduga’s or froxes when they jump and eat you up
- destroying zonaite/ore desposits
- keeping you cool in unbearable heat in the desert and scorching hot in goron caves
- his wave size and reach changes depending on what weapon you have, so if it’s one handed it’ll be a medium sized wave, a spear it’ll be the smallest wave, and most importantly, if it’s two handed it’ll do a massive more destructive wave, which is very good for a big group of enemies like boss bokoblins and their minions, and a big cluster of zonaite ore deposits.
enough with the sidon slander.
i do agree that the way his avatar moves though is extremely annoying and non-intutive. but when you actually do get to him it’s worth it.
it also means i get to wear the ember (dinraal) set in the gerudo desert (in the day) and the death mountain caves when it’s glowing and lit up, without getting hurt.
this video helped me appreciate sidon’s ability more <3
i say sidon’s cuz i already appreciated the others abilities before lol
i don’t care what people say “tULiN iS tHe bEsT sAgE” y’all clearly aren’t playing the same game as me cuz Riju’s lightning is so damn good. it’s so satisfying and does the most damage out of the sages (when you have a good bow i guess)
