Also! The scene where Kelvin is officially nominated? Keefe is sitting a healthy distance away, and upon the announcement he gestures to Kelvin and barely touches his shoulder. He’s locking the PDA AWAY because Kelvin said to, when I’m sure he wanted to hug him close and kiss him right then and there 🥺

i noticed this as well... it's such a difficult needle to thread; when one member of a couple isn't fully out, the other has to constantly monitor their actions and question what is too much/not enough affection, which can be exhausting and cause serious friction. kelvin's ask to keep things "down the mids" is genuinely challenging and puts keefe in an awkward position publicly, especially because they are pretty much attached at the hip. keefe just wants to kiss and touch his mans whenever he feels like it, not just behind closed doors ( ⚈̥̥̥̥̥́⌢⚈̥̥̥̥̥̀)

but keefe is astoundingly patient. it's taken years for kelvin to get to the point at which he could even begin to embrace his feelings for keefe, and to be honest i don't think keefe expected him to get there or to reciprocate his feelings. keefe has been quietly in love with kelvin since the end of season one at the absolute latest, and i think he's still in a state of disbelief that kelvin chose him at all. so even though it's hard, even though it takes everything within him not to worship kelvin every waking second of the day, he is willing to wait for him—however long it takes. and there will come a payday soon (≧▽≦)

I wonder! After Kelvin was kidnapped, the following day when Keefe arrived to work, he sees Kelvin’s car and then immediately picks up dirt and smells it before asking if anyone had seen the handsome man. Do you think he did that because he worships the ground Kelvin walks on, so he could sense or smell Kelvin had been there? As if to confirm where the car itself could not?

Also, I think they’d get freaky in the car itself, no roof and all. Spicy food for thought 😈

i think that was the rough idea for the scene, totally! we're often reminded that keefe literally worships kelvin, so the logic does follow (at least in keefe's strange mind), that his senses are deeply atuned to kelvin in various ways. god, that moment is so goofy and charming, and i love the gesture he makes above his head to indicate kelvin's faux hawk to his fellow carpenters. "the handsome man"? even though he and kelvin are on the outs at the time, he's still down subterranean for him LOL he must be protected at all costs!!!

oh they definitely get freaky in the jeep at some point, i'm certain of it. hmmmm, and looking at the above gif, i didn't realize until now that the jeep has metal door guards in place of doors... so easy to hold on to... that is VERY INTERESTING TO ME AND NOT AT ALL GIVING ME IDEAS FOR ANYTHING AT ALL!!!

*ahem* (〃 ̄ω ̄〃)

The way Keefe says “There’s no way for me to climb up to you” just kicks me right in the ovary. It’s not just climbing up to the treehouse in general, it’s climbing to Kelvin specifically. Not only does it give Rapunzel vibes but Keefe’s single purpose is to be with Kelvin and there has been an obstacle in the way to doing that. Physical at first but then emotional. The dismissive wave… Kelvin is hurting Keefe again under the false thought that he’s unworthy and I haaaaate it. I wish they did flashbacks where we could see how they met or even like a montage of fun moments over the last year and a half since the S3 finale that we didn’t see since this all happens in real time. And I’m wondering if Keefe is an orphan, actually…

the dismissive wave at keefe sent me into a tailspin. this is not at all unlike what happened in season one when he sent keefe away because he felt unworthy to "lead" him. kelvin is incredibly hard on himself and unfortunately, keefe is always in the line of fire when kelvin goes on a self-destructive tear. at least this time their relationship itself isn't in turmoil and it's clear kelvin isn't upset with keefe, but it still hurts to watch kelvin isolate himself and refuse comfort and support from the person who loves him most. fortunately, keefe will never give up on kelvin and he will reach him no matter what!!! 🥹 i am so excited to see what keefe does to get kelvin out of the treehouse, and what it means for their future together ༎ຶ‿༎ຶ

POSSIBLE SPOILER ABOUT KEEFE'S FAMILY BELOW

The idea that Kelvin was such a vocal and incredibly smart kid before the break in, the break in that happened while he was in Judy’s room secretly tearing out pictures of male celebrities from tiger beat magazine, that some part of his brain internalized this. That he withdrew, stopped being as loud or wanting to be smart, that something in him equated the break in with his being gay, that it happened because God was angry at him. Like that shit fucking hurts.

thinking about the moment in season two when kelvin says, "you know what kills me? everyone sees me as a joke. i'm the baby of the family, the youth pastor who peaked at 12." as an adult, kelvin is able to immediately recall the age at which his life took a downturn... and of course it perfectly coincides with the break in that led to him locking away his true self. like of course it does.

Like it’s genuinely so gut wrenching and the fact last season the siblings were abducted so that has to be beyond fucking traumatic for Kelvin especially considering the break in when he was a kid and that immense fear of being taken away or killed. The idea his family just sort of let him go quiet and fade in the back that Eli just doesn’t understand him because nobody ever tried to just check in or make sure he was okay after that night.
