been replaying totk (well i guess. just normal playing it. i never beat it) and i know i made a post about it before but i need to do like a thorough post with lots of examples. that being. The Visibility. you can't see in that game. botw was also pretty bad on this front (lots of low contrast visuals, general fogginess) but its like. Ridiculous in totk when combined with the caves and the sky where theres clouds coming thru and just constant awful fog. not to mention the depths which ugh lets not get into the gameplay aspect of it too much but the fact that light is built into the gameplay loop is Cute up but i shouldnt have to be playing the game in a way where i need to waste more materials because my own eyesight is worse.

i need more screenshots on the ground itself but like. look at that 1st one. we're 10 feet off the ground. you can barely see the edges on the fucking Tree stumps. this is Insane

the issue i have is NOT graphic or general aesthetic fidelity (though there is CERTAINLY room to comment on that). I have eyes that strain very easily from having to squint to see the landscape im walking on. my eyes get tired after a couple hours of playtime and so i have to deal with slightly blurred vision after the fact. 3d games are hard on my eyes in general but this game hurts my eyes like no other.

its not just a 'turn your brightness up thing' because again my eyes strain super easily. i live on lower brightness. even when i do turn it up the weather or somethign changes and now im flashbanged by the snow.

the easiest change i could think of is like. outlines on larger land masses and items and creatures. lower the fog. id rather have pop in than The Fog.
