im a girl as a hobby but my professional work is being a dog

sometimes it feels like some of you just see trans women as "women with dicks" and tend to forget that bottom surgery is a thing and that trans womens pussies are also very beautiful and cool.

I'm part of a wood carving club and there are a lot of dads who are dripping with adhd/autism vibes who's special interest is wood carving. One of the master skill level carvers who we'll call... Jim was working on a figure of a super heroine, who was frankly outrageously bodacious. Several women in the club are uncomfortable with this. They tell me they wish he wouldn't carve stuff like that at the club. This is understandable. I felt a bit uneasy too. I ask if they told him, and they say no.

This goes on for months. He's at a point where he's carving the folds of her skin tight suit. It's shockingly impressive. A real Giovanni Strazza with wood here. Many of the women in the club, (also boomers) have stopped talking to him because they're offended.

One afternoon I see a woman we'll call Karen approach him and have this conversation Her: Wow that is really starting to look like actual fabric. Him: Thanks! It's been a really fun challenge. Her: I bet! She sure is - a lot- huh? Him: Yeah a lot of these comic book characters are really outrageously proportioned! Her: They really are! You know, when I was carving a sign that was political in a way i knew would offend some people here, I just felt so much more comfortable carving it at home. Him: *nodding* Her: Okay? Him: Yeah I get that. Her: Yeah. Okay. Good luck with her!" *she walks off and he looks a little confused.* Next week at the meet up Jims working on it again and Karen's furious. Says to me "He said he wouldn't bring it back! So RUDE." So I go up to him and we have this conversation. Me: Hey Jim Him: Hey Neala Me: Some of the ladies around here are feeling a little uncomfortable with the figure you're carving because of her massive cartoon titties. Him: Ah shit, really? I thought they just thought it was funny. Me: Yeah folks laugh a lot when they're uncomfortable and trying to hide it. Him: Mm, yeah and I can never tell which laugh is which. Me: Me either Him: Well I won't work on this here anymore. I have other projects to do. Me: Hey thanks! I wanna see it when you're done tho so take a pic for me, okay? Him: Haha sure! I go sit down. Karen is shocked. Jim puts the figure away and works on a carving of a crane instead. He is not upset.

A week later I over hear Karen telling her friend I screamed at Jim last week.

you need to make your keyboard more fucked up tbh

A lot of people in the notes seem confused in general about what is going on here and why something like this exists. This is the android port of an alternative input method called Dasher. Dasher is essentially an accessibility aid for a variety of use cases where a full size keyboard would be inefficient or impossible to use, such as using a very small device with no physical keyboard, or for people with disabilities that affect typing. you input text through a single pointer aiming up and down to select characters (and left and right to adjust zoom speed and go back), meaning it can be controlled one-handed with any kind of pointing device, including headmice, eyetrackers, or in this case a touch screen. The circle on the right side of the screen (added by my screen recorder) is where I'm touching. Dasher's website explains it well:

Dasher is a zooming interface. You point where you want to go, and the display zooms in wherever you point. The world into which you are zooming is painted with letters, so that any point you zoom in on corresponds to a piece of text. The more you zoom in, the longer the piece of text you have written. You choose what you write by choosing where to zoom.
To make the interface efficient, we use the predictions of a language model to determine how much of the world is devoted to each piece of text. Probable pieces of text are given more space, so they are quick and easy to select. Improbable pieces of text (for example, text with spelling mistakes) are given less space, so they are harder to write. The language model learns all the time: if you use a novel word once, it is easier to write next time.

you can see this quite clearly when I type the word "with": after finding the 'w', 'i' followed by 't' then 'h' is the most probable in the model, so it's the largest and easiest to select.

If you want to try it out for yourself, it's free software and there are ports for a variety of operating systems. The easiest way to install the latest android port (updated last in 2013 lol) is through the alternative FOSS app repository, F-Droid:

Another trans day of visibility another yearly tradition of making myself ever more visible on the Internet.

Being visible is especially hard for trans women right now, but I want my sisters of all kinds to remember that you're loved. Even though things seem frightening right now, there are always going to be women like you who have your back no matter what.

I especially want to shout out my fellow tall fat trans girls, and every trans woman of colour who deserve so so much more than what the world is giving them right now. I love you all so much. Stay alive, stay strong, stay beautiful! The world wouldn't be without you.

Love yourself for me, okay?
