Jussie Smollett, a black, openly gay actor best known for his work in Fox’s “Empire,” was assaulted in Chicago by two people carrying a noose and an unidentified “chemical substance” in what police are calling a “possible racially-charged assault and battery.” Smollett, 35, was walking on the 300th block of East North Lower Water Street around 2 a.m. local time on Tuesday, “when two unknown offenders approached him and gained his attention by yelling out racial and homophobic slurs towards him,” the Chicago Police Department said in a statement to The Washington Post. “The offenders began to batter the victim with their hands about the face and poured an unknown chemical substance on the victim.” #GuapoMarket #News #Report #Gay #LGBT #blacklivesmatter #gaylivesmattertoo #justice #empire #jussiesmollett #leedaniels https://www.instagram.com/p/BtRd2UAnuUH/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=12ymcu477tia9

Kali Uchis has finally graced us with her presence in an official capacity. Done are the days of snooping around for A-Sides and B-Sides, and making that judgement call without a playbook to call upon. One musical style gets subbed in another, but that's of the brilliance that sets her apart from her pop contemporaries. Isolation is very much a tale of self-cultivation. Although its hard to relate to her at times, Kali Uchis is adept at creating a tapestry that is both familiar and disorienting at once. Songs like "Dead to Me" and "Tomorrow" subvert the natural frequency of our daily lives. Incidentally Uchis can go a whole album without telling you her story, while seducing you all the same. Also included in the final draft of the album is her reggaeton-inspired banger "Nuestro Planeta," and singles "Tyrant" and "After the Storm." Kali Uchis remains an enigma to her fans, and perhaps that's the greatest part of her mystique, the part left open to suggestion. Go get Isolation and hit us with your thoughts. The wait is over. Cardi B finally unleashes one of the year’s most anticipated albums, Invasion of Privacy. Bardi’s long-awaited debut features the 5x-platinum chart-topper “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)” and “Bartier Cardi” with 21 Savage, which was recently certified platinum. The 13-track set boasts a star-studded lineup, including Chance the Rapper, SZA, YG, Kehlani, Migos, Bad Bunny, and J Balvin, with production from DJ Mustard, Boi-1da, Frank Dukes, Vinylz, Cheeze Beatz, and 30 Roc. It’s been a long time coming. In September, the former “Love & Hip Hop” star explained the doubts associated with her debut. “I’m a little nervous to put the project out, but I think it’s gonna do pretty good,” she told The Associated Press. “It’s a lot of pressure on me. Everybody is waiting to see what I’m gonna have next and it’s like, I hope people love it. But I have confidence. I’m really good.” Last year, Bardi also opened up about her lack of privacy due to fame. “I cannot turn my life back around. I’m already a public figure, I’m famous,” she told Rolling Stone. “It’s like, I might as well keep it going, might as well make the money. People are always going to talk shit — I cannot make myself un-famous.” The rumored mom-to-be will celebrate the album’s release with a performance on “SNL” this weekend. She will also share hosting duties with Jimmy Fallon on Monday’s “Tonight Show,” and perform at Coachella on April 15 and 22. Stream Invasion of Privacy below.
