it was quite comical when merlin said “i use [my magic] for you, arthur. only for you” bc he was lyinggggg that man was stealing sausages off arthurs plate and making horses out of smoke and cheating at dice and making arthur bray like a donkey and making him burp and what not. and it was DOPE. also kind of related-> i always hate fics where merlin swears some kind of oath to arthur and declares that his magic is fully for arthur to command that shit is sooo lame let a man have some fun i say….. let a man use his own magic for whimsical and mischievous reasons please and thank you. merlins magic belongs to himself and no one else. he will choose of his own accord to protect his friends and not harm innocent people and beyond that it’s nobody’s business what he does with his magic not even the stupid king should have a say in that
