It is the season- and London is full of eligible bachelors and bachelorettes, waiting to be swept up in a whirlwind of romance, passion and matrimony as they each fight their own battles for happiness in London's elite society.
lucifer takes back home a very affectionate, very drunk MC. but this is his human, though, so who is he to complain?
"i wanted to see them a little longer."
"i assure you they'll be here first thing tomorrow morning, and you won't be able to get rid of them." lucifer answers with a sigh, hopping you up higher on his back.
it's a starry night in the human realm, one that's not often seen by the avatar of pride. he used to love to look down upon the brightness in his first home and make shapes out of them, often getting starry eyed and emotional, and those shapes had later on formed into stars for humankind.
he wasn't lucifer morningstar for nothing. but that was a long, long time ago with a very different lucifer, though.
the thought still makes his jaw clench.
"i hope they will, but i missed them a lot, luci," your slurred voice takes him out of his head, soothing his wounds and calming his heart. he hums lowly in response. "can we go back for a little bit?"
"so you could fall asleep in the middle of their meaningless talk, making them sad because their predilected human wasn't paying them attention?" he taunts, clicking his tongue. "they're hard enough to handle when they're excited, mc." he scoffs. "enough with the nonsense. you know humans need to sleep."
"luci."
"hmm."
"you smell good. how can you still smell good? we've been out the whole day. it's not fair."
he gasps, and is silently glad you're too intoxicated to notice. how could you say this things, genuine and wholeheartedly, so easily? honestly and freely? lucifer doesn't know, can’t understand, but as he grips your thighs harder, his nails leaving red marks on your skin, lucifer's thankful it's you the one that makes his heart flutter.
he hides the way it stutters with a scowl. "i don't smell 'good'. you're hallucinating because of your lack of sleep, so for the love of everything, sleep."
"okay." and then, in a quiet whisper. "i love you."
he feels himself blush before he can stop it, like he always seems to do with you. his raven hair hides the lovely, embarrassing truth in his eyes as his head leans sideways to make space for your face while it snuggles against his neck. lucifer's body will always remember your love like it's muscle memory, your breath slow and hot against his skin, soft lips pressing on top of his pulse making him dizzy and so responsive to you, a human, and the worst part is that he craves it, he realizes with a start.
"luci? don't you love me back?"
a beat. one, two, three seconds pass. two red cars speed by the street.
"i'm all yours, mc. you already know this."
and you're mine, he doesn't say. doesn't need to.
your demon softly squeezes you closer to him in return, so frighteningly aware of the gap of strength between the both of you, how fragile your body feels against the millennium old demon, millennium old being. the gentle grip his hands grab your thighs with, his thumbs gliding against the material of your jeans, his scowl at the cars passing by for being infuriatingly loud, for not letting you fully rest against him, it's his way of saying me too.

it’s been a long day and he wished for a quiet night in his office to relax with some tea while overlooking the bills his brothers have riled up.
but he’s quite distracted tonight.
peace and quiet is not an option. especially with you loitering, floating around his office and touching all the trinkets and décor. you’ve never shown interest in them before, but tonight, all of a sudden lucifer’s office is the most inviting place in the world.
“mc?”
“yes, honey?”
widowed nanami who quits management job and opens a bakery after your name when you die. usually people try to forget their pain, and it is a human emotion to avoid things that bring them discomfort. but nanami kento defies that psychology.
people come every now and then pondering at the art on the walls. you always loved lilies so he drew them himself. he is not very artistic and the lines are a bit crooked, but it is still alluring.
he loves you to the point he dedicated a day in his bakery after you. cheesecake day. because it was the first thing he baked for you at the start of your relationship and you loved it so much. on this day, he prepares all kinds of cheesecake you adored. anything grabs attention of youngsters and social media quickly so they promote his shop and soon there is a big line outside waiting for the famous cheesecake. you'd be so happy if you were there.
he never wanted to forget you to be honest. what is the point in letting go of the one thing that keeps him alive? you are his every thought. every feeling. without you he is just a man with flesh and bones. no heart.
he has your engagement and vacation pictures mounted on the wall. when the customers ask how are you doing? he just smiles and goes "she's resting. i'll be next to her soon. i'll be home."

He doesn’t really remember exactly what it was that the two of you were talking about, or when, but he remembers how his voice echoed in the alleyway home — the shortcut, he called it.
Iwaizumi remembers rambling and he remembers that you let him; you were never one to cut him off. He was a good listener, as it could be especially hard to get a word in around people like his group of friends, but you?
Around you? He couldn’t shut up.
He was rambling on and on about something — he forgets what, but it was big for his sixteen-year-old self. Nerve-wracking.
“Are you done?” he remembers you asking, side-eyeing him as you walked.

i wanted to pick out my favourite parts from this but honestly this whole thing is perfect and if i could quote this entire piece i would :') but here's some of my favourite bits!
By now, he’s more than a decade older with a bunch of fearlessness under his belt, from spiders put back outside to funny noises in the yard. He’s carding his fingers through your hair on the couch you both picked out, and he hasn’t been this scared in a really, really long time.

my current favourites are mammon, lucifer and diavolo but i also have a soft spot for levi even though i haven't progressed much in the game :') aaaah you like mammon too!!! i really really hope they give us individual routes in the future so i can make mammon endgame <3
