Hey there! I used to be around under the username RaptorReptiles, but deleted the blog in 2019 due to a stalker issue I was having. I miss reptiblr so much though so I’ve come back under my new name, Kestrel / HawkHerps :3 This is a sideblog; I follow from @theros.
My icon and header are both my own photos; the icon is Marconi, and the header was taken at Cape Fear Serpentarium. Before the, you know, murder.
My creatures (most have no photos yet; just setting up the tags now because i Will forget later):
Marconi - female normal ball python, estimated 10 years old. My first ever reptile, adopted as an adult from my uncle in February 2015. I don’t know her age when I got her, but my guess is 2-4 years old since she was just about full size.
Sigma - male crested gecko, given to me as an unexpected gift in December 2017. He’s poorly socialized and so far has not reacted positively to my attempts to socialize him. He’s incredibly flighty and bites like hell if I touch him for any reason.
The Aethytas - okay honestly most of the time I just call them “the mourning geckos”. Still, I have a triad of mourning geckos.
I used to have a male hognose snake, but he passed away unexpectedly in January 2022. I also used to have an unsexed amelanistic corn snake (Aldia), but they had to be euthanized in July of 2024 due to feeding complications caused by severe spinal kinking.
I have no intention of getting any other animals any time soon. I’m working on upgrading Marconi to a larger enclosure in December/January, and once that is done I’ll be open to adopting another snake.
