4. what’s an inside joke you have with your family or friends?

we have a recurring joke with the color blue in my family due to my dad’s cracked spotify. my mom was looking for music there on his phone iirc and she thought it was very funny that his playlist was titled ‘playlist azul’ and his username was ‘piloto azul’ or something like that. she then noticed his profile picture was a default capital letter with a BLUE background and we thought that was the funniest shit ever bc EVERYTHING WAS BLUE. then we looked at the actual playlist. guess who was the first artist on there? los ángeles azules.

and i have multiple inside jokes with my friends but it’s mostly based off of memes one of them shares with us and it sticks to everyone else because of how often he repeats them. which i guess doesn’t count as an inside joke because they’re famous memes but i can’t think of any inside joke we have rn JAJSJSK the ‘ya llegaron las picsas’ quote stuck with us for a while and so strongly we even went to go get pizzas to make it real

6. what’s the best and/or worst part of being online/a creator?

i think the same reasons why it’s a blessing also make it a curse. it’s nuanced like that. connecting with others through what i make/what they make/post has been one of the most wonderful experiences, i’ve met incredibly lovely friends i’m grateful for everyday and it’s helped me gain a bigger understanding of the world beyond my own culture but it’s also sort of built within me a hunger for attention that has no precedent to anything bc before using the internet i never really wanted to be particularly seen? i have a blast making art, it’s in sharing the results where things get messier for me. i’ve tried to balance out that i know i’m making incredibly self indulgent art as of late and making amends with the fact that its hyperspecificity makes it harder for external people to get into it, but it also makes the connections i already have much deeper. my pokemon art has made me connect more with my irl friends too funnily enough! they’re the ones who gave totochimi a ship name in the first place <3 and a classmate i don’t talk to as much gave me a chimchar card he got at a market bc he thought of me ahsdnjsnsjjd

30. what’s one thing that never fails to make you happy/happier?

i’m always happy eating raw tomatos and everyone knows that. this account was named bestomato before as a pun on my old name (besto) and tomato. i’ve also become incredibly associated with monkeys irl so people frequently send me vids or pics of monkeys or comment on the fact of how much i actually behave like a monkey which overjoys my heart LOL <3 it’s very fun to be open about who you are.. i’ve learned it’s how one achieves joy. it’s very scary but honestly kinda contagious too, the moment you express yourself as you are the people who surround you i’ve noticed kinda start getting that same impulse!
