You're right he's not a stupid or delusional man. Which is why he focused his publicity on Jared and didn't even mention Misha. If he were more interested in highlighting Misha over him, he would have at least talked about him don't ya think? Jared is one half of the spn brand that Kripke desperately wants to use on his show. No matter what you personally think, this does not change. Jared and Jensen are his gold mine. This isn't even about acting, it's about brand recognition of spn which centers on Jared and Jensen.

Kripke cast Jared as Sam Winchester. He knows his talent. And in fact he actually thought Misha did a bad job in his initial audition fun fact.

Misha is not a better actor. He never had one performance that stood out and any time he tried, it was just hammy, over the top and unintentionally hilarious. He is in a different tier for sure but it's far lower than Jared. He is no where near his level in career, recognition, talent and in fact he's unemployable. He has had no significant job offers. There are other extras on the show that have had better careers than Misha.

He’s had 1 role in a TV show in 5 years and that’s because of an unprofessional minion who is no longer employed themselves at CW.

Kripke did not mention him once (despite M begging), reality is it’s Jared that threw M a scabby bone, as always, including him in that vid when it would have had much more impact excluding him. Jared’s always helping assholes like M’s 2 cast off employees and M himself and none of them deserve it.

What I find really funny is AAs actually created Destiel/cockles because of their hate for Jared, to try to sideline him in his own show and now Jensen is pretty much stuck with M trying to use him/his character for clout at every opportunity as well as “fans” hounding him about THAT ship. I feel sorry for Jensen because he deserves better than to be used but his stans can reap what they sowed.

In fairness, up until The Boys, the AAs have hated everyone that Jensen has worked with that were above him in the pecking order (even on The Boys, they disrespected the existing lead actors and pissed The Boys fandom off). They know that Sam was the lead role (in the same way that Luke was the lead role in Star Wars), and reality is that Jensen lost out on that role to Jared (even though Dean is a much better role for Jensen). They can pretend all they want that #1 on the call sheet means nothing but in the acting world, it means everything. That’s why they have to continually lie, like Walker was offered to Jensen first (it wasn’t). And it’s sad because Jensen has done well and continues to do well, he’s likely always going to be employed, similar to Jared, but he’s not employed at the (Emmy/Oscar winning) level they need him to be to win an imaginary war only they are fighting.

So, according to the destiel trash, Daniela is jealous of Collins because he and Jensen are close. Seriously, in what universe would anyone be envious of an unemployed, washed-up actor who barely qualifies as a 3! Thanks for the laugh losers!

Reality is Daniella was at a minimum heller adjacent, she planned the cons to maximise Jensen/Misha interactions and minimise J2 ones, she also had Jensen/Misha closing panel which to this day I do not understand why Jared or Jensen allowed this to happen.

Fast forward until the last few years. I think 2019 (which is the last con before Covid) was the turning point. It’s also the con Jensen was on a little “something something” to get through his panel with M. The same panel that Jared had to come out and rescue a clearly out of it Jensen from M assaulting him on the stage floor (he was recreating the Sam sitting on him in the diner scene - which is different in filming as everyone on set would have made sure they were both comfortable in that position and ready for it, Jensen was not).

Can’t say what changed - possibly she grew out of the ship, possibly she sees M for the sleazy user of Jensen that he is, possibly J2 stated boundaries because that’s when the no ship questions was enforced but things have definitely changed.

Nothing but praise for his boy!

S8/Purgatory is one of the few things I disagree with Jared about Sam over, but I still thought this was an interesting answer overall in terms of his current perspective on it.

Jared diplomatic as always. I remember at the time he did not like this storyline and Carver kept saying it would be addressed and it never was as it was an unpopular storyline and they just moved on.

Jared did not go after M because he was joking on stage with Jensen, he went after him because M threw Jensen under a bus in relation to THAT ship. J2 had their own panel, M was off on his own lying about THAT ship and promising to “sort Jensen out”. Both J’s were pissed. They’ve been pissed multiple times at M’s “antics” but have learned better to deal with it over the years - another example was when M live simulated fucking Jared on stage at an Australian con, Jensen was pissed then. Tbh, I’d be pissed too if a bit part actor was lying to the fans of my show and queerbaiting while throwing the main actors under the bus. He should have been sacked.
