the movie Becket I watched as a child ruined my life (all the ships I like in this life have turned into a *lord and servant relationship* wtf 🤡
i had a dream where someone reimagined Dror as this monstrous tiger-like creature, and @1hoblet suggested it could be a weretiger, and that there were plans to make a lycanthrope companion for bg3 originally, and these two concepts aligned, so i present you: weretiger companion Dror Ragzlin
Fun (not fun) fact: The localized name of "Planescape: Torment" sounds almost exactly like the pronunciation of "Depression", so every time I open this game I tell my friend I'm going to be depressed (This game has really made me feel deeply depressed; I feel like it's been months since I completed it and still haven't gotten my bearings back 🤡)
The timeline of the contradictory githyanki historical texts that confuses me the most is:
① Gith borrowed the red dragon from hell.
② Gith went missing / died / returned to hell to serve the dragon queen afterward.
③ The Gith gained freedom.
④ The githyanki and the githzerai split.
How do these events actually fit together?? According to some older game texts, the baseline timeline should be ③→④, and at least in ④, Mother Gith was still around (some wikis even say that Gith killed Zerthimon, which I personally like as an explanation), and ① definitely occurred before ③; however, in Baldur's Gate, the text from the Prince of Comet also describes ① happening before ③, BUT with ① and ② occurring simultaneously, which makes it impossible for Gith to be present in both ③ and ④. Of course, we could argue that the text from the Prince of Comet is as (partly) fabricated as the githyanki history books, but I hope this text isn’t also a lie 🤡. I believe the most reasonable timeline is actually ①→③→④→② and the way it is written in the Prince of Comet is meant to shift the blame onto Vlaakith, because the contract signed between the dragon queen and Gith leaves space for logical explanation, for example, she could write in the contract: as long as the Gith (or those githyanki willing to accept the power of the red dragon) gained freedom, Gith would have to return to hell to fulfill the contract. Moreover, under this explanation, if the githyanki discover that after the civil war with the githzerai, the queen disappeared without a trace, it would give them another reason to hate these traitors.
More moreover, the explanation of "① and ② occurring simultaneously" has many significant logical flaws. First, imagine if the queen you adore went to hell at the suggestion of someone and never returned; a normal person would suspect that the person who made the suggestion had ulterior motives to usurp power, right? 🤡 In the original king's unblemished circumstances, who would deny her and her legitimate successor? Second, the prince himself has red dragons, indicating that there was a considerable amount of time between ① and the prince's uprising, unless the prince was very young when he received the dragons, too young to rule personally, thus needing Vlaakith to govern on his behalf (this explanation itself is a bit untenable, as in normal history such a role would have long been imprisoned without waiting for him to grow up and gain the strength to rebel), otherwise, it's also unreasonable that Gith completely didn’t exist during that time.
To explain this pile of stuff, I have already written a lengthy disclaimer for the comic 🤡
I found that the biggest difference between Tumblr friends and other sns users I've interacted with before is that they really do engage with strangers' OCs. I think that's somewhat reminiscent of a grand, almost communist ideal 🤡
The ecosystem I've been part of before was such that unless you were extremely incredibly talented at drawing/writing your OCs into some *masterpieces*, no one would pay any attention to you 🤡 This has indirectly led to me basically having no OCs myself, and when playing RPG games I find it very difficult to immerse myself in the main character too; I end up playing all RPG games as if they were visual novels, with the main character just being a reader of the story (sigh
Out of curiosity, what setup and software do you use for drawing? 👀 If you're okay with sharing this🙏
I use Procreate for the most of time(every picture posted in this account was drew on it), but actually I just got my iPad several months ago so I'm not yet very familiar with this software, before this I drew on Photoshop. (Bought iPad just because I dont have much time to sit quietly in front of the digital board and draw now🤡🤡I can only draw secretly in all kinds of gaps🤡🤡🤡)
These are some examples of my previous works on Photoshop, you can see that the effect is quite different:
For the software setting, I tend to draw one picture on one layer with only one or a few brushes (I basically create one file for one picture size, and then each layer in this file is a pictrue).Because of my own drawing habits, I like to use basic brushes to complete everything.
In Procreate I only use the default brushes Tinderbox, Pandani and Nikko Rull (occasionally use some dot / halftone brushes to make comic effects), the most commonly used is Tinderbox(for example, the omelurg picture is all finished by it). I think it has an effect of realistic opaque watercolour or acrylic.
In Photoshop, only kyle's simulated pencils and simulated oil painting brushes are used(it's a set of default brushes in the 2020 version).
Personally, I feel that the method of shaping has little to do with the brush. The simpler it is(better with a LITTLE texture), the more suitable it is for shaping.
Glad to share and I hope it helps! 🥰🥰
BTW I must say that Procreate has so many defects(or maybe Photoshop is too powerful), I am still trying to tame it🤡 Dear Photoshop I miss you so much🤡🤡😭😭
If you're still accepting gith I've got my tadpoled gith xa'rok here (with more under #tav: xa'rok): https://www.tumblr.com/astralprisms/754955119502802944/tell-me-abt-xarok?source=share
No pressure, of course! Your art is lovely to see regardless!
Welcome welcome (still, because I mainly want to practice drawing faces, so just roughly deal with the part of clothing
