Hollow Knight OC tournament round 2

Prince Oren (he/him) from @frolicinq

Prince Oren is a prince from a neighboring kingdom to Hallownest, Sovereignty. When his kingdom threatens war against Hallownest, the Pale King offers the Pure Vessel's hand in marriage as a peace offering. Sovereignty accepts, and so Oren is betrothed to the Hollow Knight.

When they're both of age, 10 years later, they're finally wed. Then a few years after that, the Hollow Knight is sent off to be sealed, and later Hallownest falls. Oren survives it all, hibernating in a den. Ghost finds Oren during the games events, and Oren alludes to knowing the Hollow Knight. The Radiance is killed and THK is freed from its prison. Oren finds it and is filled with grief and anger, so while he helps with its recovery, he avoids interacting with it personally.

Eventually, he breaks, and a fight breaks out. In the middle of the fight, Oren confesses he was in love with it. After talking about their pasts, confessing their feelings, the fight stops and they go home together. They become a couple, and alls well that ends well.

Lavis (they/them) from @mortalant

Lavis is a grave robber and they’re from Pharloom who steals from both the living and the dead. They came to Hallownest after learning the kingdom was wiped out by the infection leaving hundreds of dead corpses, dead corpses with money and items so they set off to go and rob these dead bodies but what they didn’t know is that these corpses act like zombies now, having to fight them in order to get their money. They’re okay with their weapon but they’d rather choose to flee fights than take a stand. The pin on their cloak was from their old tribe they were kicked out of due to them trying to steal an ancient artefact. They can’t remember much after the wastes of Hallownest but they know there are riches within the kingdom which should rightfully be theirs. Lavis is pretty mean and rude and doesn’t use basic manners. They have a ‘everyone for themselves’ mindset pushing away all forms of connection and positive interaction they’re very arrogant on the outside to cover for their lack of self worth

A mysterious tall bug, who likes to explore high places and sing their melodies with their flute. They don't talk much, but are very observant. Not fond of fighting! their cloak and mask are made of leaves.

Zabava & Rozeline (both she/her) @mouse-drawings

Roseline and Zabava are a traveling moth-merchant and grasshopper-mercenary duo.

Roseline is a traveling silk trader and larvae shepherd. She is a Rosy Maple Moth, who was born faraway from Hallownest. However, she knew of that place through the stories her Granny told about it. She grew up hearing about a moth paradise, a place where it's always bright, where they are protected, where they have no need for anything. When Granny died, Roseline made it her goal to visit it one day.

Zabava is a traveling soldier-for-hire. She is a grasshopper who was raised by ants. Now she doesn't feel like she's both. She's neither. She's lost in the world without a people to call her own. So, she travels in hopes of finding a place for herself. It's an awkward process and the world is cruel, so she chooses to explore it by offering her combat skills to anyone in need.

Their paths have crossed many moons ago and they've been inseparable since.

Zabava will follow Roseline anywhere. She's willing to sacrifice many things, including her life, for Roseline's sake. She sees in Roseline the thing she's been looking for all her life. She wants to call the moth her home. But she's too afraid to admit it aloud.

Roseline finds solace in Zabava's presence. When the road is harsh and paved with death, when everyone warns her to turn back, when she finds the ruins of her Granny's dream in what's left of Hallownest... Roseline thinks she'll be fine as long as Zabava is with her. She cannot confess, though. She cannot risk Zabava leaving.

Caprice (she/her) from @cordycepsbian

Caprice is a Nosk who lives as a traveling bard, taking the form of a cricket and reaching into her audience's mind to play tunes that are familiar to them. She draws in much attention wherever she goes, in part due to her magic and charming affect, and in part due to rivals mysteriously disappearing around her. Surely it's nothing to worry about, someone so friendly who makes such delightful music would never hurt anyone... right?

Hopper & Hank (he/him) from @raddest-laddest

Hopper: born to be a banjo man, forced to be a bounty hunter. He and his ragtag team used to go around the wild wastes looking for their next paycheck

Hank: used to be a bandit until he was ditched by his gang… he won’t forgive or forget.

One night Hopper and his crew happened upon a recently abandoned Hank, and recognizing him almost instantly, they decided to take him prisoner. Sand storm happened, Hopper (now separated from the rest of his crew) is left alone with Hank, and they end up having to work together to meet their changing goals :]

Beryl (he/him) from @tiger-lily-55555

Beryl is a friendly, compassionate tarantula hawk wasp who tries to keep a glass-half-full perspective on life. He loves going out to taverns with his friends and meeting new people. He also enjoys taking walks through the desert, watching the wildlife that lives there. He lives near a small town called Spineridge, which acts as a resting point for adventures traveling through the surrounding desert and the Wastes beyond. Despite the fearsome reputation tarantula hawks have, Beryl doesn’t know much about combat, and would rather talk things out to solve problems. His favourite food is cactus fruit, especially cider made from it, and his favourite animals to spot on his walks are lumaflies and tiktiks.

Wisp (she/her) from @miikrowelle

She uses her soul magic to create fake illusions, which she uses to put on "magic shows", while traveling through all sorts of lands. Through the story telling of her illusions, she tries keeping the history of the Radiance alive (she was a dear follower of her)

She's very egocentric and loves attention, but not a bad person. Shes very loyal and can be very sweet if you complement her.

Beryl, Wisp, Caprice, Hopper&Hank, Clover, Zabava& Roseline, Prince Oren and Lavis will move to the next round
