๐Ÿšจ Urgent Appeal: Save My Familyโ€™s Life Before Itโ€™s Too Late ๐Ÿšจ

The war is growing more brutal by the day, The planes are raining down shells, burning, killing without mercy. Today, the Israeli army ordered us to evacuate our area immediately amid heavy bombing. Since this morning until now, they have killed 70 people, and my family and I barely survived. ๐Ÿ’”

Most families have been displaced, but we do not have the money to escape to safer areas. The cost of transportation and displacement is extremely high, while what little we manage to gather is barely enough to keep us from starving amidst the siege, border closures, and insane price hikes. ๐Ÿ˜“

Time is running out, and danger surrounds us from all sides. We need to urgently gather the cost of evacuation and transportation to save our lives.

Please, do not leave us alone in this hell.

Your donation now means saving our lives and giving us a chance to live. ๐Ÿฅน๐Ÿซ‚

Help Hana and Youssef
๐Ÿฅ€๐Ÿฅ€๐Ÿฅ€๐Ÿฅ€๐Ÿฅ€
I'm a mother of a 2-year-old child. His name is yousef...I see my son growing up in front of me and I do not know how or when. This is not what I wished for him. I was dreaming of a wonderful life to spend with him...a life not full of death, fear, destruction and deprivation...I wanted to fill his room with toys and his closet with clothes, and I wanted to buy children's books for him, but I couldn't... the war came and the wishes were gone...my goal became to provide him with milk and food. I can barely afford anything. Everything is expensive and we no longer have income to enable us to buy his needs. Kram eggs have been deprived of many of his basic needs. He has been deprived of safety and stability..No, fruits, or meat.
There is nothing but fear that fills my son's eyes as soon as he hears the voices around him. He does not realize what It happens outside, but he feels and sees it in our eyes when he looks at us.I cannot protect myself and my son. Help me to save my son yousef. He deserves a better life, as do all the children of Gaza and the world.
Alone, I cannot, but with your help, we will be able to find a safe place and a better future for my son. Be a reason to change a child's life for the better by visiting our link on GoFundMe. And donate anything to us, no matter how small...every dollar makes a difference and give a life for my son..
I am Youssef. I was very young at the beginning of the war, but now l have grown up and can walk and know how to speak and understand everything. I hope to get your help in publishing or donating on our Aaljo Fund Me account

The most difficult decision for us was to leave our country, to leave Gaza, overcome the obstacles we faced and the losses we suffered, and begin a new life from scratch.

The advantage of shipping older characters is that theyโ€™re totally over all of that petty relationship drama. Right?

Final Finals

Edgeworth and Phoenix vs Suletta and Miorine

  • Miles Edgeworth and Phoenix Wright from Ace Attorney.
  • Suletta Mercury and Miroine Rembran from Gundam Witch from Mercury.

need to string together my thoughts more on this but reeeeeally interesting to see the influx of media - severance, the substance, mickey 17 - centered on the idea of a double/expendable iteration of yourself.

the dehumanization of workers by the way of non-livable wages, unsafe working conditions, and identity based discrimination (and the current removal of dei initiatives), all drive a wedge between our personhood and the value we are prescribed as a member of the workforce. something something the effects of ai and deepfakes already putting people in danger, the way we live and present our lives online vs in reality, thereโ€™s a lot to unpack here. but itโ€™s fascinating to see this trope so widely translated as a storytelling vehicle for these ideas, and that this is the story that people are interested in telling.

i donโ€™t know if this interpretation is 100% applicable to all three of these mediums, but especially with the substance and severance, something that stands out to me is the lack of remembering of either life. i canโ€™t quite put it into words, but this โ€œdouble lifeโ€ explored through contexts of beauty and work feels so relevant now in the 21st century amidst increasing pressure of societal standards in the US

i mean think about it. both work and beauty have such unrealistic expectations surrounding them. we have โ€œgrindsetโ€ culture and an increased emphasis on unattainable beauty standards through plastic surgery and constantly evolving fashion trends. while both of these ideas exist within two very different spheres, something exists within both of them.

i and many others understand the rationale behind these ideas and similarly understand that they are bad. however, we still feed into them. personally i feel awful when i canโ€™t turn in work on time or look at myself in the mirror and see that i have belly fat or stretch marks. in some ways i imagine there exists a level of double consciousness here. knowing things are bad but still, a part of you frames the substance. a part of you goes back into that elevator every day.

this isnโ€™t a slight against OPโ€™s ideas. i think theyโ€™re totally onto something and it got me thinking here :0

deadass had her italicised โ€œohโ€ moment then immediately fell so hard she crashed all the way through the centre of the earth oh my god

something that should be taken with a grain of salt are the statistics talking about the high rates of mental illness + neurodivergence among trans people (ocd, bpd, adhd, autism, etc)

I see both sides of the political spectrum taking these studies at face value - conservatives say we're broken, and trans people try to come up with reasons why for example autism + gender dysphoria makes sense and why one of them feeds into another

at the end of the day you have to remember that we're the one category of people on this planet who are legally required to go see a psychiatrist in order to receive non-psychiatric medication and surgeries.

more trans people are in therapy by law than any other demographic of people, and as a result, this captures more comorbidities.

if I had to look at my own family & rates of mental illness?

mom, dad, 2 maternal aunts, maternal grandmother, paternal grandmother, sister, sibling, and me all have OCD.

7/9 of them are cishet, never been to therapy, never diagnosed. 2/9 are trans, required therapy for hormone treatment, and were diagnosed.

you don't have to do any math to just see that the resulting statistics end up intensely skewed.

and we can think back to how autism was virtually never diagnosed more than 50 years ago - ruling out any grandparents being included in statistics - and even my parents' generation (they're in their 60s now) wouldn't have been included either.

I don't think it's to anyone's benefit to accept these studies uncritically. a lot of these things are hereditary and far more prevalent in the overall population than people realize
