youโ€™re allowed to get up one day and just decide to change who you are. dress differently, speak up more, laugh out loud even though youโ€™ve never liked your laugh, say what you want to, say hey to people you wouldnโ€™t normally, get that confidence going. we donโ€™t have to stay the way people see us out of the fear that they wonโ€™t like the us we want to be.

I had a professor in college who used to start solving every problem with the same dialogue.

Proff: Whatโ€™s the first step to solving any problem? Class: Donโ€™t panic. Proff: And why is that? Class: Because we know more than we think we do.

I think about that a lot tbh. It didnโ€™t occur to me until much later that he meant for us to apply that dialogue outside of the classroom to any problem. Because we always know more than we think we do. We are all an amalgam of random information that ends up being relevant with surprising frequency.

gentle reminder you can rise up from everything. you can recreate yourself. nothing is permanent. you are not stuck. you have choices. you can think new thoughts. you can learn something new. you can create new habits. all that matters is that you decide today and never look back.

self-improvement should be because you want to improve your quality of life, not because you feel or think you *need* to be better in order to be loved or allowed to live. there's no end goal with self-improvement, it's easy to dig yourself a grave when you don't realize that you're not on a ticking clock to be the 'best version of yourself'. all you need to strive to do is be the version of yourself you are the most happy with. find out what values you find important, what kind of friend do you want to be, how do you want to react to things. what are things that would improve the way you go about life? what would make life easier, better and more enjoyable for you?

This. If I can get this into my head, that would be great
