Hiii :3 I'm a longtime horse lover and collector of animal figures, so I figured it was time to combine the two!

I've queued up a lot of varied horses, mostly from ebay and collector sites, and a few from my own collection. The current queue is at 8 posts a day :)

If you like what I'm doing, consider supporting me on ko-fi. I'd really really appreciate it!

first of all, thank you for maintaining this amazing blog and for all the hard work you put into it! your incredible ID abilities made me wonder: do you know of any blogs/places where one can submit actual horses (from movies, TV shows etc) for breed ID? for ex. does anyone know what kind of horse was Goliath from Ladyhawke? (i know this one lol but there are so many times i DON'T know!)

TIA for any advice on this, appreciate it!

I don't know a blog like that, though you could always try asking @horse-breed-a-day !

(And for those who may not know, Goliath is a Friesian (and apparently I have a bone to pick with him))

centaur opinion/fuckability rating on foaly from artemis fowl? (if ur familiar ofc) love ur blog btw every horse i see on my dash heals my mental illness bit by bit

Oh god it must've been over a decade since I picked up an Artemis Fowl book! Never could finish them - probably because I used them as a rebound after trying to get over another book series (never do that)

Anyways, yeah, I could fuck him. Not much of a looker (at least not in the graphic novel) but he's got that pathetic vibe that drives me a little crazy. 5/10 for fuckability.

i think this is a silly question and i’m pretty sure i know the answer but when making a horsesona do i pick a breed from my area?? the breed i think my sona would be is from a completely different country but i like it a lot. anyways i feel like im in a horse church and this is the confessional

You can do whatever you want forever. None of my sonas are native animals. I'm Danish but my fursona is a bison/carnivore/beast thing, my bugsona is a solifuge, and my horsesona is a grade horse (basically a mutt). Just do whatever feels right - let your heart decide what kind of horse you would be :)

Re: centaur proportions. On one hand, the human half should be proportionally smaller so that the horse half can support it. On the other hand, how big horse body get enough food from tiny human mouth. It is an intractable dilemma.

Animorphs solved this by giving their centaurs mouths under their hooves, so whenever they walk they're slurping up grass...

...and the occasional snail

Do you have a favorite pose for horse figures? If you could design a figure, how would it look? (would love to hear however much detail you want! Like if you prefer a specific material, could be without any worry for the cost or as cheap as possible or whatever)

Oh, well, I'm predictable, if I could design any figure ever it would be a fashion horse of my oc Moussa, in the vein of Struts or Fashion Surprise Petz. I genuinely love campy horse figures

If we're talking more realistic figures, I'd love to see more rare breeds, especially the weird looking ones, like horned Moyle horses, Mongolian race horses, kladrubers, Italian heavy drafts, and all those scruffy roan mustangs covered in corn spots.

I would mention marwaris and akhal tekes too, but we have quite a lot of figures of those by now!!

As for pose, I'm not picky. Honestly I'm a little boring; I genuinely love a simple standing pose that shows off the horse's anatomy!

It would also be fun to get a sitting, stretching, blepping, balancing, or rolling pose

Hello! I need some help!

I had a whole set of these guys when I was a kid, but I was forced to give up all but one for reasons that I don’t fully recall. I’m not sure if this is in your particular area, but I thought I’d give it a shot cause I’m not too sure who else to ask.

Who is this? What is their identification? It would be a great help if anyone could help me out with this. Thanks so much!

I'm sorry, I know next to nothing about plushies! Try asking @horse-plush-a-day or @unicornoftheday. Best of luck!!

Hello!! I recently started looking for breyers out in the wild and I found these! I think I was able to ID three of them but the grey on the top left I couldn’t figure out. It was sold as a Breyer but I couldn’t find any info on it and no Breyer stamp to confirm. Was wondering if you could ID for me!

Avatar

The top left grey one looks a WS Hong Kong! Likely from the 60s (give or take a decade). I've seen it in a few other colors, but never that blanket appaloosa! Really cool find :DDD

If you look on its inner thighs there should be a stamp that looks like this:

(And for the sake of propriety: The Breyer horses are #112 Western Prancing Horse, #14 Sheba, and #40 Western Pony)

Hello! I have a question about how you ID horse figures. When someone sends you a picture, do you have to go through a bit of research to figure out what they are, or is your brain Just That Good at remembering different figure makes, models, styles, etc? (I’m not personally a collector but I love a theme and love seeing everything you post ❤️)

I have reference lists for the production numbers and years (for Schleich I always my own list here and for Breyer I use either this or this site), but when it comes to tracking down brands, it's a mix of great googling skills and Just KnowingTM. I've talked a bit about Just Knowing how to recognize horse figures here. After doing it for a while, you'll eventually spot minute details without really thinking about it.
