On the flip side I understand that Rick and Jesse are currently struggling but Rick’s been giving go girl give us nothing energy over Beth’s danger and idk if he’s just like that to avoid being in even hotter water with his marriage or he just has lived so long without her that he’s desensitized to it. Either way he isn’t as invested in getting her back asap which could mean he’s confident in her abilities and isn’t jumping to conclusions but it gives the impression he’s ambivalent to her wellbeing which is—😭
Valentine's Day Chit Chats

“So here’s the thing,” Beth says, coming around the corner of the school’s west wing. She stops in front of Rick’s locker, the girls at her side. “It’s kind of expected that on Valentine’s Day you spend designated quality time with your girlfriend.”
Courtney and Yolanda nod along in agreement.
“Sure,” says Rick, shrugging off his jacket.
“So you understand that concept,” Beth clarifies slowly. “You agree that boys with girlfriends should be spending Valentine’s Day with them?”
“I don’t have a girlfriend,” replies Rick, nonplussed. He grabs a physics textbook in terrible shape out of his locker. “So I’m not sure what you’re getting at.”
Beth folds her arms over her chest and gives Courtney a pointed look. "See? It's not a boy thing. It's a Cameron thing." She gives Rick a reassuring smile. “We’re not actually talking about you, we just needed your opinion. We’re talking about Cameron.”
“He hasn’t said one romantic thing to me all day!” Courtney butts in, clearly distressed. “Not even a quick five-minute sketch ripped off from the corner of his worksheet in History class! He’s better than that!”
Rick snorts.
“He is!” she cries.
“I think that Cameron doesn’t know that Courtney thinks they’re dating again,” Yolanda is quick to say.
“We are dating! He sends me a Snapchat streak every day,” Courtney argues. “And not of black screens either. Who even does that anymore if not because they’re in a relationship?”
Rick meets Beth’s gaze desperately. “Why are you making this my problem?”
Here are some Dr Mid-Nite/Beth Chapel costume redesigns! I’m working on the rest of the JSA redesigns but here’s my girl, my favourite character from Stargirl. I love her show suit, no matter what her suit will always been my favourite of the JSA. But enjoy some alternate designs, some inspired by her other comic suits and other Dr Mid-Nite suits and some just for fun! Let me know what you think? ❤️

I have an hournite fic that I began a few years ago. It now sits at over 60k but is unfinished and very unpolished plot-wise. However, the first 10-12 chapters are solid and readable. Is there any interest for me to post this? If yes, do you want the beginning or would you rather I wait (who knows how long) until it’s completed?
I'd like to read the fic if you felt comfortable sharing it currently. I'd also be happy to wait until you finished.
I tend to love characters that end up developing pretty small but dedicated fanbases though so I'm always happy to see when an unfinished work I bookmarked a decade ago gets one new chapter every couple of years lol
Thanks for the feedback! :) I have about 25-30k solid. The rest I'm a bit worried about. It was for an old nano project so the second half of the original 50k devolves into a messy race to the finish line without much coherency lol.
I am the same way. I tend to care for small fanbases as well. You're right that getting an update notification for an old beloved fic is always a fun gift. On the flip side, it is difficult to actively churn out content for a fanbase if engagement is non-existent. I made a commitment to myself a year ago to not post any more WIPs but I think it has been a disservice to my craft. I've noticed the Stargirl tv and hournite tags has been dormant recently and that's sad because I have so many half-finished stories that just need some direction and TLC!
