artistic interpretation of the rammys....(consequences of caffeine on an empty stomach)
throwback to the time one of my friends took like 3 servings of preworkout (basically concentrated energy drink powder) before our chemistry final at 8:30 am
he was visibly shaking for at least 3 hours, i dont think it improved his test score at all
Holy shit was that the same guy that took 6 servings of ggf9k before my math final?.
yes, yes it was.
also i got clarification it was only 2 scoops
still 400mg of caffeine tho, crazy stuff

local theater kid absolutely fucking hates movie musicals. more at 8.
this is so real and i am going to rant about it (text wall incoming)
to be clear this is mostly about movie versions of actual productions and not movies with copious amounts of singing although those can still be straight ass
my problem with movie musicals is that they are the antithesis of live theatrical productions. they exist in the same vein as movie adaptations of books: trying to fit something into another medium can deprive it of what makes it special.
part of the magic of live theatre is the fact that it is done in person, in front of an audience. everything has to be done practically, mistakes can happen, the show goes on. movie musicals take this and chuck it in the trash.
don't want to build a setpiece practically? just use cgi!* actor miffed a line? just redo the take. the performances are less genuine, the technical aspects become irrelevant, it's just bland.
as someone who works in theatre, one of the most important parts of the art form to me is that each performance is different, and each show run is temporary. when the curtains close on the final night, the story is finished - until another theatre company picks up the script and does it all over again. recording performances spoils this in my opinion.
this is also why watching recordings of productions kinda sucks. yes i know it can make the medium more accessible but like. you dont need to go on broadway to see a musical. community theatre kicks ass go support local artists!!!
tldr; i have not watched Wicked (2024) out of principle.
*side note: this is not hating on the use of cgi in movies. cgi is fucking awesome and can be just as good as practical affects if not better. yes i think avatar (the blue people movie) is actually really cool. people who think all cgi is bad need a severe reality check.
do NOT open ur personal laptop in class. you will accidentally open four movies that u forgot you had mp4s of, seventeen different firefox windows full of extremely personal tabs, a document with your social security number, your bank account, and three different emails before u finally find the tab you were looking for. only to realize that several people sit behind you.
have you ever heard of multiple desktops. object permanence issue.
car shopping on facebook marketplace/craigslist is truly one of the experiences of all time
average listings:
"2 william dollars, does not run"
"one dollar. my great grandpas rust bucket. please take"
"800000 miles i lived in it for 10 years. heavily modified. i dont actually want to sell it you moron"
sisyphus coded activity...
as much as i am a rail transit advocate and car dependency hater...
there's something beautiful about large scale highway interchanges. i see people wondering why the hell they get so big in places like texas, but there actually is good reason.
a large portion of US freight is done via semi truck. they have absolutely awful gas mileage, and ideally should be kept at highway speed (65-70 mph) for the duration of the trip. because there's so much open land in parts of the US, making giant interchanges with massive sweeping turns allows for heavy trucks to almost never slow down.
