decided to draw some of art requests from a frankensteinery server (exact request wording and server link under the cut 🙏)

omg there is no toggle to ask anonymously, OKAY WHATEVER IT'S FINE. DON'T MESS THIS UP, ME!!!

First of freaking all I absolutely adore your art. I know you get that a lot, CLEARLY. But I truly mean it from the bottom of my heart when I say that your drawings bring me the most dazzling snazzi-licious glammourful amount of pure unbridled joy. It's so rare to see realism artists in fandom spaces, so when I come across one, I just HAVE to let them know what an honor they are serving.. I say this because as a fellow artist who is working their way towards realism, I find it so hard to imagine characters as how they would really look in real life! So people like you seriously do a major service in helping me visualize said characters as real people... does that make sense? Now let me prefice that I am not throwing shade at artists who don't draw in a realism style, OBVIOUSLY. I'm just clarifying in case my compliment came off as back handed. LOL.

I especially love your Ford drawings so so much.. you give him life, and it's just so beautiful.. he truly looks exactly how I picture him. You made my vague imagination come to life and I admire you for that so freakin' much. May I ask, do you use references of real people when drawing ? Cuz if not, HOW ARE YOU SO GOOD AT PUTTING YOUR THOUGHTS ON PAPER LIKE THAT. AUGH! Like that one pic of Grunkle Stan struggling with his phone? That's just SO HIM. I'm so impressed by your work, friend. If you DO use references, please help a guy out!!! Tell me what the heck to look up!?!? Specifically for drawing Ford and Stan, I wanna draw them super realistic like you do.

Sorrryyyy for rambling, you don't even have to answer this I just wanted to let you know how amazing you are.. you really inspire me. You inspire a lot of people. Have a stantastic day/night :-3

hi hello!! thank you for the ask :]

i would turn anons on if i was able to do it on my sideblogs :( and i’m sorry for such late response, i had quite a busy week

but!! thank you!!! <:D all feedback is welcome, and each comment makes me want to create more!!!! i feel really happy knowing that others enjoy the art i do!!!

like you said, i may have a thing for realism(ish?) - both in my traditional and digital art. but i absolutely adore and envy artist who create most intricate, unique, colourful, bouncy, abstract, simplistic or any other personal style!!!!

i do also love artists who can see highly stylised characters and transform them into more realistic styles, which is what i’m trying to do with my gravity falls art :]

i’m learning realism to be able to break the rules of it and i have a long way until i define my style for sure 😅

and about Ford… gosh, i kept rereading that part of your ask so many times, I love Ford so much and i’m glad that i made him proper justice - thank you so much!!!! thank you :'D

i do use reference pictures!! i don’t think i’d be able to pull such realism without them, and i think they’re really helpful even when one’s drawing even more stylised and less-realistic characters. before i draw a character i’ve never drawn before i look up images of people on pinterest, with stan and ford i used to type something like "old man photo reference" and then i let myself to get lost for hours in sea of images and references. when you manage to find someone, somebody famous, an actor, or a model who matches your idea of a character - that’s when you striked bingo!! i actually used pictures of two actors to inspire my design of grunks but i will never say which ones (though i’ve seen someone guess ford’s inspiration correctly in the notes lmao)

once i find a reference i like, i study it, sketch it couple of times and while i’m keeping anatomy and some elements of facial structure of a person on a picture i have to keep in mind the look of the og animated character, like a big nose, thick eyebrows, big ears and so on, adding those to the drawing too. and then shading when i feel like it.

i really thank you so much!! i feel really honoured to be an inspiration to someone, and i hope i could help you at least a little bit!!

have a stantastic day/night too :]

Your art is so insanely gorgeous, I want to look at it every single day!!

do you sell prints (please please please please)

thank you so much <:D

your ask was the thing that finally made me create a redbubble actually!!! (and my inprnt account is under review and i should be able to upload my art for prints there soon!)

so i guess

I HAVE A REDBUBBLE NOW!!

my silly gravity falls doodles can be in YOUR home today!! stickers, pins and some of them should be available as prints too :]

there are also a few pieces from my personal art as well as frankenstein and classic literature illustrations :]

and if you’re feeling especially generous and want to fuel my artistic endeavours: i have a kofi too

hey your art is so cool and pretty!!! I was wondering if you could give me some art tips ? :3

hello and thank you!! :]

i feel honoured to be asked something like that, i’m still learning myself and i have a long way until i feel satisfied with my art expression but here are some tips:

- observe the reality - my art teacher always said that the first step to becoming a good artists is to become a good observer. notice how the light reflects off of surfaces, how it affects their colour, how do different textures look, notice how a fabric crumples and why is a shirt you wear straight in some places while in others it’s not, see the shape of the eyes, how differently do they look from the side compared from the front, how many heads fit into average human body, see how tree branches grow from the tree- everything you see is a learning and observing opportunity. not only does it help you establish how things look before you start drawing, but also, it helps you appreciate neat little details in nature, in human bodies, even in objects of everyday use! world is beautiful!

- learn to understand the basics before developing your style - it helped me greatly to first battle the anatomy and nail the proportions, learn how to shade, know where to push my pencil hard or gently glide it on a paper before focusing on my style. but hey that’s just me!! i know equally big amount of people who say that getting to learn realism first ruined their style, others including myself feel more stable in their art getting to learn the realism first, so do as you feel is right but be aware of basic weight, proportions, muscles when drawing people for example

- references - references, references, and references again. i rarely draw without seeing something visual in front of me. it’s good to have couple of reference pictures (poses, clothing, images of background) in front of you and have fun figuring out how to combine them to reach your desired image. it’s a good practice and the search for reference images itself can give you more ideas for future drawings.

- you can make the most badass art using basic art supplies - that’s it!! don’t be discouraged when seeing others using expensive markets, watercolours, graphic tablets. some masters create using kids wax pencils, cheap charcoal or with just their finger on a free drawing app. though as you notice your progress in art, it can be good to upgrade your materials!! when i started painting i used the cheapest acrylic there is, now that i’ve started art school and professors recommended some brands of more pricey paints to me, and i genuinely felt that it made a difference and using them is much smoother than using a cheaper paint. but for the start - school-grade art supplies are a-ok to begin with!

- get a feedback - this is what probably helped me get better in art the most other than studying, drawing, practicing by myself - a feedback! whenever it’s your high school art teacher, your friends, art spaces on the internet (just be safe!!! especially if you’re a minor) the feedback is necessary, and often it’s the constructive criticism that helped me the most. not bashing or hate - constructive criticism. things like "it’s really great but the eyes may be too far from one another, look at the reference photo" or "i like it but something about the shadows seems off" you know? knowing there’s something i can improve and figuring out how to improve is great for your progress.

- have fun - don’t stress it! art should be an enjoyable hobby! if you don’t like what you’ve made - close your sketchbook, flip your canvas, take a walk, drink something, look at it later. sometimes there will be mistakes that are too late to be fixed, but sometimes it’s awesome to figure out how to fix them and know how to not do the mistake again! you’re learning! don’t be too hard on yourself, art is not a competition, art should be fun way to express yourself and your ideas :]

i hope it’s not too difficult to understand, i am not very good at explaining things so this is the best i can offer right now

thanks once again for the ask!!

nothing to ask, i just wanted to say your art is so beautiful, and thank you for sharing it with us!

*casually freaking out*

i i don’t even know how to respond!! in past weeks i feel like all artist gods of tumblr have been looking at me from heaven and applauding me for my silly art- THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! especially since it’s coming from you - such incredible artist!!! thank you very much, it means a lot!!!!! <:D

“Get out of my head!”

“You first.”

@paintednettle it took me so long to respond to your tags! even though i keep returning to them, i’ve never found the right words to reply… thank you, thank you so much!!! <:D

many of these details are happy accidents or something i didn’t plan to include beforehand, so to see my work analysed like this, to hear others point out beautiful details i didn’t see myself is something incredibly joy-inducing and makes me want to create and create and create more :']

the funniest one must be "subtle details like the scars on his fingers" you see. i drew this before i’ve read TBOB. i knew about the nail thing, but not about the scarred fingers and knuckles, so it’s really neat that the scars are somewhat seen despite me not planning them there lol

i am sending my heart to everyone who shares my little arts, and biggest heart to everyone leaving tags, from the nicest and most deep art analysis and feedback to people just screaming in tags, you have no idea how much joy it brings to me!!
