Sitting in your living room, you were doing your best not to stare at Casey. In the afternoon light she was beautiful. All soft edges and sweet curves, a small smile on her face. Your fingers itched to touch her, to see if her skin was as soft as it looked.
She’d shown up at your door, a case file in hand, asking you to run through her opening statements with her. Preparation was the way to win. And no one was ever as prepared as Casey Novak.
So you sat with her on Sunday afternoon, tinkering her opening statement, running through the evidence, the questions she wanted to ask, making sure she hit all the right points. You loved lawyer mode Casey. It always gave you a thrill to see her in action.
It was unbelievably sexy.
“I really think you’ve got it,” you said.
Her head was bent over a few papers, her hair falling forward into her face. You reached over, pushing it behind her ear. Glancing up, she seemed startled, green eyes widening. Your smile was meant to reassure.
“You’re going to be amazing, Case. You know that,” you said.
“I don’t know. I really can’t afford to mess this one up. Donnelly is already breathing down my neck,” she said.

Going out to the bar that night had been an inspired idea. You’d won your case, your biggest one yet. Your closing arguments had been a thing of beauty. Untouchable was the word that had been thrown around.
You’d laughed it off but it made you glow from the inside out.
Being swept out the door to celebrate had been natural. It was hard to argue when you’d been so phenomenal. So when your colleagues had said it, you hadn’t required much convincing.
Now, a few drinks down, your limbs loose and your thoughts fun, you were so glad you’d gone out. The music was loud enough that people were dancing, your lips moving along with the lyrics. You were laughing, head thrown back, feeling freer without the stress of the case weighing you down. You hadn’t realised just how much it had been effecting you.
You rolled your head away, feeling deliciously loose, but not so much that you were growing sloppy. Just the right amount of alcohol coursing through your system to loosen you up, to make you feel easier in your own body. A flash of blonde hair had you focusing.
