dinosaurs are like the coolest thing possible for a child to learn about. it’s like hey i know you were just borned but giant monsters are real and they fought each other in wars for 100000000000 years and then blew up when the sky exploded.
i think i got the major ones
i realize this is probably not the most exciting poll i've ever done
I typically use calibri for stuff like assignments but a while ago I downloaded a font called Kingthings Facetype, which I dearly wish I could use more often. It looks like this btw
Hi WOW that sure is a font
oh my GOD (also my favoured fonts are in my pinned post i dont wanna take up too many lines on this reblog lol)

I’m opening 5 slots for the commission designs!
The price can range from $250 to $400, but can be more or less depending on the size, complexity and detail of the design.
Dm if interested!
I was really close to getting my second tattoo yesterday. I had an appointment booked and a custom design ready. But two nights before, I got a gut feeling that I wouldn't like the tattoo. I had the appointment changed to a consultation to redesign the tattoo.
I am waiting to see the redesign before I rebook the new tattoo appointment.
I think I am having second thoughts about being visibly inked. My first and only tattoo is on my leg and easily hidden. My next one is going on my arm. I really want something easier to show off, but I am also nervous about it. I guess it's normal to feel this way right?
I also feel bad about being so picky!

the people on tiktok filming a blob-like strawberry and saying it's a GMO one...fucking fake strawberry fans...they literally can grow naturally like this
it's just the strawberries growing together. do not speak lies of these beautiful freaks ever again
every time I find a strawberry like this i'm not hating. i'm happy because there's more strawberry to eat. unlike you
its called fasciation and it's a mutation that happens in plants all the time! it's perfectly natural, just a neat variation that comes from a wide array of genetic possibilities :)
The federal government is moving to add PFAS, a class of thousands of chemicals used in a wide range of products from food containers to clothing, to the official list of toxic substances, in light of growing scientific and public concern about the substances in Canada and around the world. PFAS, or per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, are man-made chemicals used for their water and heat resistant properties. They are widely used in many everyday products — such as packaging, cosmetics and textiles — along with industrial uses like water-repellent coatings and firefighting foam.

this is amazing news!! and it gets to the heart of what has historically been a major problem with regulating toxic chemicals like these
from the article: "What we're doing is unprecedented, that we would use the Canadian Environmental Protection Act to not look at one substance… but to look at the entire family [of chemicals]. It's never been done before," said Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault in Montreal.
in other cases in the past, when toxic chemicals have been attempted to be regulated, they were typically regulated like one chemical at a time. oftentimes, there was a similar enough chemical derivative of that toxic chemical that manufacturers could just pivot to that other toxic chemical and use it instead, and the process of regulating that new particular chemical would have to begin from scratch again. they had this problem a lot with brominated fire retardants iirc. whack-a-mole ass
but the canadian government is moving to classify all chemicals in the class of PFAS as toxic, which is fantastic. it gets out ahead of the issue of manufacturers attempting to turn to equally-toxic derivatives and will instead force them to look at other materials and classes of chemicals that aren't fucking toxic
often thinking about how I'm in the upper ranges of what sewing patterns you can buy commercially will accommodate. Like, I'm one size below the largest size in the pattern I've been working off of for my bo peep costume. I'm on the heavier side of average, I think:
so if you're fat and think sewing your own clothes might be easier than purchasing them, congrats, it isn't! fat people literally can't have anything :( I don't think vintage patterns even go up as high as me, so you have to know how to make your own patterns on top of knowing how to sew if you aren't straight sized.
I've been slowly gaining weight as I age (a natural thing that happens to most people) so I should probably start learning how to make my own patterns if I wanna keep doing this lol. The good news is that the dress above was something I figured out on my own, without a pattern. It is possible!
A great site for your fat sewist is The Curvy Pattern Database. I have found many a cute pattern there in my size, definitely more than I ever found clothes anywhere. Have fun browsing!^^
Apart from that, I'm definitely learning how to make my own pattern, since patterns are not that cheap, especially when you have to print them out, too.
