I wrote the unhinged salmon monologue, will run it by someone, but I think I'm sticking with it.

I'm starting to get very sad and tired about the way people treat writers versus artists. Like I'm sure being an artist has its own issues, but on the whole it really is that writers are expected to write for often greedy and demanding readers for nothing, nothing emotionally or socially or financially or any of the other avenues that seem much simpler for artists.

If someone seeks commission for writing they are not simply informed about laws/TOS (which would be correct to do) but demonized to the nth degree.

Artists do these "hey X likes gets a new pic" and if authors do anything like that, the world goes nuts. I've seen the dogpiles in otherwise fan-writer safe places.

And I'm not one to complain about my engagement, but it just seems like we are expected to post content even when readers don't even express that they want it. And then when people are negative and hateful about your ships, it's even worse. Because having all that hate without a counterbalance of positivity, it's discouraging. That is a reality, and authors aren't being entitled for pointing it out to you that it's discouraging, and you really should be engaging with the work you like.

I was just thinking about how adorable it is that humans write au fanfiction. Like: Wow I love these two characters and their relationship so much so;

Let them fall in love as mermaids, as spies, as pirates and vampires, in space, in medieval times, in a zombie apocalypse, as hockey players and figure skaters, at a flower shop or coffee shop, the list could go on forever

I like to think of fanfiction collectively as a multiverse where all of these stories happen and they fall in love over and over again in many different lifetimes because Iโ€™m a sap like that

Okay thatโ€™s all

I present the dichotomy of man.

Satoru Gojo: bad at sex because he's overstimulated, over-eager, and desperate to pleasure himself.

Megumi Fushiguro: good at sex because he barely allows himself any pleasure and is desperate to please his lovers (so they don't leave)

I completely agree about gojo. Sorry but he's selfish and he fucks bad and tbh he needs someone to forcibly take their pleasure from him.

But really I reblogged because I want the megumi ted talk. He's one of my newer faves on account of being so misunderstood and unappreciated and fucked up.
