Hello!

Hi! I'm Stars, or lovedthestars, or variations thereof. My pronouns are she/her/hers. If you think you recognize me from the Murderbot discord server, yep, that's me! If not, hello!

As my username suggests, I love the stars (but also, it's from a poem: The Old Astronomer by Sarah Williams). I make lots of art, but I only share the occasional fandom piece on here. I also write, mostly Murderbot fanfic at the moment. My ao3 is i_have_loved_the_stars_too_fondly if you’d like to go see what I’ve written! I have so many unfinished wips it’s not even funny, and I ramble about them sometimes. If you ever want to ask me about something I wrote/am writing, please do, I will be very excited to talk about it! I’m happy to get asks in general, and I love ask games & tag games. I try to tag common upsetting topics in the format “#tag” or “#cw tag.” You’re always welcome to ask me to tag a post or a subject—I’ll let you know if it’s something I don’t think I can consistently remember to tag. Mutuals can do me a favor by tagging #food, especially for images.

So Nanowrimo is actually dead.

After 25 years of operation, Nanowrimo is shutting down.

An email came out in the hours approaching April Fools

If have anything on Nanowrimo you need to get off the site, take it now. The site will likely not be around for too much longer.

Despite everything that the organisation has been through, the closure of a 25 year old nonprofit is still a tragedy, and my heart goes out to everyone that’s grieving from this. Nano has hurt a lot of people, but it meant a lot to so many, and I will be sorry to see that go.

Even if I don’t agree with many things in the recent video, I can agree with the sentiment of one slide.

I will update you all if and when relevant information comes out. Despite everything, I now doubt that this will be my last post.

happy tdov to people who don't pass or have no interest in passing, who can't pass because there is no culturally recognised category for the way they want to be recognised, who flip flop and fuck around, who can't hide their transness and have to plan their everyday around being visible, who can't signal their transness and have to come out over and over because the default presumption is intolerable, who don't have the resources yet or the knowhow or the willpower to change what they want to change, whose transness is warped by a hegemonic image of ideal transness that is almost as difficult to escape as the hegemonic image of cisness, who don't have a justification prepared for the assertion that they are trans but can no longer justify the assertion that they are not, who have a million justifications that are all surplus to the fundamental requirement (that society mandated one articulation of you and you chose another), et cetera and so forth across the world and universe forever. your version is right. don't concede.
